4. Why Did It Work? People coming together: We created a forum for participants to publicize their sun screen use, creating a new social norm, and thus reducing obstacles to the use of sun screen. Out in the open: We facilitated an environment that instilled social pressure not to deviate from the new norm. Triggers and motivation, wrapped into one: We triggered the behavior with a video that served as a motivating factor.
