It is the 25th Anniversary of the Defence of Freedom of Lithuania in 2016

2. This year it is the 25th Anniversary of
the Defence of Freedom of Lithuania

3. The day of the Defenders of Freedom was
commemorated in Lithuania to honour January 13,
1991, the anniversary of the defenders of Lithuanian
freedom and the victims of Soviet aggression. Bonfires
were burning all around Lithuania as a reminder of the
day when the country’s freedom was defended on
January 13, 1991.

4. “Let’s Be Together” : lighting of the
commemorative bonfire in Katyčiai

12. The traditional civic action “The Memory is alive
through testimony” at Katyciai basic school of Silute
region

13. Many Lithuanian schools light the candles on the windows, which
symbolize the respect to the casualties, also the light of the defended
freedom, the victory of freedom ideas against the brutal force as well as
the memory and concentration.

21. The civic action “Forget-me-not” at Katyciai
basic school of Silute region

22. We pin a flower of Forget-me-not as a sign of our
memory and honour to the people who defended
our freedom .
