Klaipeda is a seaport located in Lithuania on the Baltic Sea. It has an ice-free port and is well positioned geographically. The port can accommodate bulkers up to 80,000 DWT and tankers up to 130,000 DWT. Lithuania is located on major transport routes between China, Europe and Russia. A container train called "Viking" runs three times per week between Klaipeda and ports in Ukraine, providing a competitive option that takes only 55 hours. Future plans include expanding rail connections between Klaipeda, Moscow and China to provide an alternative land route for trade.
