                       SCHOOL OF COMPUTING

                           PROJECT OVERVIEW
The objectives of this write-up are to review the deliverables and discuss some of the
requirements of your project. Furthermore, it gives you some ideas for projects.

Deliverables

The project is worth 20% of your final grade. The specific deliverables are:

   1. Project Proposal: It is worth 5% and should be submitted third week:
      1) Hardcopy in class.
      2) Softcopy email to adib@uum.edu.my].
      Proposal includes the followings:
o Your group members name, metrics, and email address.
o A brief description about your project (Idea, objectives, and
             functionalities).

   2. Project development: It is worth 15% and must meet the following requirements
(PROJECT WILL BE EVALUATED BASED ON THE FOLLOWING POINTS):
         o Must look very professional
         o Must have useful contents
         o Must use CSS
o Must use JavaScript/Ajax to validate user input
o Must provide search feature for normal users
o Must have Login feature at least for the web admin
o Must provide insert, update, and delete functions for the web admin

Note: The previous points are must. However, you are free to include additional
features making your project more attractive (such as uploading your project to
      any free server)

Project Idea

Any project contribute to solve one of the United Nation Millennium Goals
      (UNMG): http://www.un.org/millenniumgoals/
OR any project contribute to open source (Mozilla WebFWD, GNOME 3, etc)
OR create your own project: Clearly you have the freedom to choose anything
you would like to do. If you would like to discuss your idea with me before the
project proposal deadline, feel free to do so. In fact, the more creative the better!
Google Summer of Code:
       http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/projects/list/google/gsoc2011

Again, just realize that a month is an awful short period of time to develop an idea, do
the development, write a report, and prepare a presentation! The more work you can
do sooner, the less stress you will create for you and your team members.

Good Luck,

Adib
