According to the API classification, gear oils are marked by the following letters:
GL and a number from 1 to 6 – the higher the number, the more difficult the
conditions the oil can function in.

Viscosity classification
WHAT DOES A MARK, FOR INSTANCE 75M-90 MEAN?
SAE (oils viscosity classification) – determines oil viscosity in different temperatures.
• a number before W determines the level of viscosity in low temperatures (the lower the
temperature, the more viscous the oil).
• a number after W determines the temperature in which the oil preserves the right
viscosity level. The higher the number, the more resistant the oil to high temperatures.
With the rise in temperature, the viscosity level decreases (the oil becomes less viscous).
The viscosity classification 75W-90 according to SAE tells us in which temperature range
the oil can work. It is an oil for many seasons and in our climate zone it is recommended
using 75W-90 or 80W-90 oils.
