2. What is it?
The March of Dimes organization is a group
dedicated to raising money to help premature
babies and their families. This organization
donates a lot of money each year to support
families and to support the research to help
these babies.

3. What do they do?
Each year the March of Dimes organization hosts
a series of walks in order to raise the money that
they then donate. These walks take place in
spring, and are held all over the country.

4. Is there one in Toledo?
• The walk for Toledo is going to be held on
Sunday, April 15. Registration for the walk will
take place at 8:30 and the walk will start at
10:00. The starting location of the walk will
be at Fifth Third Field.

Many families come out as large groups in order
to support either babies that they are related to,
or the babies of close friends.

7. What does a premature baby look
like?

8. What causes premature birth?
The causes of premature birth have not yet been
located. It could be anything. This is why the
March of Dimes organization exists. To find and
prevent the causes of premature birth so that
more babies can be saved from death each year.

9. How can I help?
The walk has not taken place yet, so there is still
time to help! I will be attempting to raise money
to donate to the organization. I will have flyers
and a table set up to help raise the awareness of
the organization. This in turn will help raise the
awareness of premature births in America.
