Monty Mullig, Managing Partner

A recognized industry leader, Monty Mullig has been working with Internet technologies for over 20
years and has been at the forefront of digital media technologies for the past 14.
From '94 to '07 Mullig served as technology leader for Turner Broadcasting's internet properties,
most recently as SVP of Digital Media Technologies. At Turner Mullig helped to launch over 100 web
properties and led the development of the technology behind CNN.com, Sports-Illustrated.com,
Money.com, PGA.com, Nascar.com & CartoonNetwork.com. In his role at Turner, Mullig led the
teams responsible for internet publishing systems, video editing & distribution, hosting & opera-
tions, ad serving & analytics, and ecommerce systems. A senior member of Turner's internet
management team, Mullig helped develop the Company's Internet product strategy and was a
driving force behind CNN.com's video product development, with Turner and CNN's online video
products ranking among the top five video destinations on the web.
Mullig is a frequent panelist at industry conferences, especially on the topic of large scale internet
video distribution, and is a founding organizer of AdMonsters, an industry trade association for ad
technologists in online publishing. In 2000, Mullig was named one of Interactive Week's Top 25
Unsung Heroes of the Internet. Mullig performed his undergraduate studies at the University of
Chicago, concentrating in Economics.

J.R. has held key management and strategy positions within technology and media organizations
for over 15-years.
From 2000 to 2008 J.R. led many of Turner's efforts in the areas of operations improvement,
media-related technology feasibility assessments and provided enterprise-wide technology-centric
strategic leadership. Since 2003 he served as Vice President of Operations and Strategy and worked
closely with Turner's Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Officer.
J.R. has guided the strategic efforts of major initiatives such as the creation of Turner's Corporate
Technology Capital Plan, the deployment of TNT-HD, the launch of GameTap and was a key sponsor
in the creation of Turner's New Products and Platform R&D divisions. J.R. also spent a significant
amount of time building Turner's understanding of Internet-based Social Media Networks as well as
IPTV platforms.
Prior to Turner, J.R. was a founding member of Pathfire. As Director of Product Development he
oversaw key aspects of the creation of on-demand, advertising and news-centric video delivery
products utilized by leading media companies including NBC, Warner Bros. and Time Warner Cable.
Before starting Pathfire, J.R. held numerous product management roles at Arris Interactive/Nortel
and ANTEC Corporation.

John Buzzell, Partner - Creative & Content Planning

John Buzzell is an award-winning 17-year veteran of the interactive industry, designing and
developing multimedia CD-ROMs, television and feature films, narrowband Web sites, and
interactive broadband products. His past clients include Turner Broadcasting, Discovery
Networks, Sony Entertainment, Columbia Pictures, Miramax, MGM, America Online, Warner
Bros., Tribune, Sprint, BellSouth, Lucent Technologies and the Department of Defense.
Most recently John Buzzell was Vice President of Product Development for SUPER DELUXE,
Turner Broadcasting’s broadband network for original comedy. In this role, he oversaw product
design & development, user experience, technology, editorial, advertiser/sponsor integration and
broadband network operations. Also while at Turner, John helped launch the official league
websites NASCAR.com and PGA.com, where he served as Creative Director.
Alastair Hamilton, Partner - Distribution & Emerging Platforms

Alastair Hamilton has been working with technology in the media industry for more than
20-years.
Prior to joining Digital Valence, Alastair Hamilton was Corporate Senior Vice President of Platform
Research & Development and Worldwide Distribution Technology for Turner Broadcasting
System. In this capacity, he lead Turner’s research and development activities in the areas of
wireless, broadband, video, gaming and related technologies, as well as the company’s strategic
software initiatives surrounding search and information retrieval, social networking, personaliza-
tion and aggregation, and advanced advertising platforms. Alastair also directed Turner’s internal
and external research projects to provide simulation and testing of new products; and repres-
ened Turner’s interests on industry standards bodies.
In addition, Hamilton also oversaw the domestic and international network distribution
infrastructure; day-to-day operations of the satellite transponder inventory; transponder and
distribution hardware contract negotiations; and strategic development of network infrastructure.
Prior to Turner, Hamilton served in a management role at INTELSAT in Washington, D.C., where
he oversaw technical aspects of video transmission through the company’s satellite network,
including the planning and implementation of transmission paths for special events. Earlier,
Hamilton was responsible for the acquisition, development and deployment of SNG terminals at
NBC News.
Hamilton received a first-class honors degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the
University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom.

J.R. has held key management and strategy positions within technology and media organizations
for over 15-years.
Author, programmer, instructor & systems administration expert, William LeFebvre has been using
Unix & Internet technologies since 1983. First exposed to computer networking with the original
ARPANet, he has stood on the leading edge of every new technology: the World Wide Web, Java,
Ruby on Rails, blogs & social networking.
For over four years LeFebvre was a Technology Fellow at Turner Broadcasting where he designed
systems for high volume web sites including CNN.com, Money.com, SI.com, NASCAR.com &
CartoonNetwork. During that time he led planning & deployment of web server infrastructure for
two general elections & other high traffic events.
LeFebvre ran his own consulting business in the late 90's, helping companies with Unix systems &
Internet technologies, and teaching Cisco classes as a certified Instructor, with clients including GE,
Choicepoint, Motorola, Turner, Lockheed Martin, and AT&T.
Prior, LeFebvre was a network engineer with Argonne National Laboratory where he received a
Pacesetter award for designing & installing networks in the Pentagon and at Yongsan Army Post in
Seoul. Six years working in academia — Rice & Northwestern — followed a bachelor's in '83 & MS
degree in '88, both from Rice.
LeFebvre continues to publish articles & participate in professional organizations. His monthly
column quot;Daemons & Dragonsquot; appeared in quot;Unix Review's Performance Computing,quot; and he edited
the USENIX series quot;Short Topics in System Administration.quot; He has taught full & half day tutorials
for technical conferences held by USENIX, Sun Expo, UK Unix Users Group & IT Forum, and was
the program chair for USENIX's 2006 LISA conference in Washington DC. LeFebvre is currently on
the leadership committee for LOPSA.
