o Detailed Analysis (analysis of camerawork, sound, editing, mise-en-scene,
conventions of genre and form in a relevant film trailer or music video)
o Still Image Analysis (analysis of 7 key images from a second relevant filmtrailer or
music video in relation to technical elements and conventions)
o Annotated Video Analysis (annotated video analysis of third film trailer or music
video in relation to technical elements and conventions)
o Promotional Package Analysis (analysis of relevant promotional package for release
of a film or album, identifying links/brand identity)
o Ancillary Product 1 Analysis (analysis of either film poster or album artwork in
relation to typography, images, layout, colour, conventions of genre and form)
o Ancillary Product 2 Analysis (analysis of either film magazine cover or magazine
advert for an album in relation to typography, images, layout, colour, conventions of
genre and form)
o Initial Audience Research (questionnaire and results to identify demographic,
psychographic information about your target audience, and their expectations of
your chosen product)

A2 MediaStudies –AdvancedPortfolio – Summer 2015 o Initial Genre Research (mind-map/timeline about your chosen genre) o Detailed Analysis (analysis of camerawork, sound, editing, mise-en-scene, conventions of genre and form in a relevant film trailer or music video) o Still Image Analysis (analysis of 7 key images from a second relevant filmtrailer or music video in relation to technical elements and conventions) o Annotated Video Analysis (annotated video analysis of third film trailer or music video in relation to technical elements and conventions) o Promotional Package Analysis (analysis of relevant promotional package for release of a film or album, identifying links/brand identity) o Ancillary Product 1 Analysis (analysis of either film poster or album artwork in relation to typography, images, layout, colour, conventions of genre and form) o Ancillary Product 2 Analysis (analysis of either film magazine cover or magazine advert for an album in relation to typography, images, layout, colour, conventions of genre and form) o Initial Audience Research (questionnaire and results to identify demographic, psychographic information about your target audience, and their expectations of your chosen product) Summer Homework: ProductionConcepts Film Trailer Develop ideas for possible storylines for your film including information about the narrative, characters, settings, and key events.
