What is the function of the integumentary system?
Forms protective two-way barrier and aids in
temperature regulation.
4. Musculoskeletal
What is the function of the musculoskeletal system?
Skeleton supports and protects the body, forms blood
cells, and stores minerals. Muscles produce movement.
5. Cardiovascular
What is the function of the cardiovascular system?
Pumps blood throughout the entire body to transport
nutrients, oxygen, and wastes.
6. Blood (Hematic)
What is the function of the hematic system?
Transports oxygen, protects against pathogens, and
controls bleeding.
7. Lymphatic
What is the function of the lymphatic system?
Protects the body from disease and invasion from
pathogens.
8. Respiratory
What is the function of the respiratory system?
Obtains oxygen and removes carbon dioxide from the
body.
9. Digestive
What is the function of the digestive system?
Ingests, digests, and absorbs nutrients for the body.
10. Urinary
What is the function of the urinary system?
Filters waste products out of the blood and removes
them from the body.
11. Female reproductive
What is the function of the female reproductive
system?
Produces eggs for reproduction and provides place for
growing baby.
12. Male reproductive
What is the function of the male reproductive system?
Produces sperm for reproduction.
13. Endocrine
What is the function of the endocrine system?
Regulates metabolic activities of the body.
14. Nervous
What is the function of the nervous system?
Receives sensory information and coordinates the
body’s response.
15. Special Senses
What is the function of the special senses system?
Vision, hearing, and balance.
