3. Two types of PLC
 A Personalised Learning Checklist is a tool for students and teachers to
monitor and track where their learning is at.
 Two types of PLC:
 1. Based on skills that students need to learn throughout the A Level.
 2. Based on the knowledge/ learning objectives that students need to
learn.

4. The idea behind a PLC
 The PLC is a process.
 It is about Diagnosis - Using the Themes and Elements of the
Programme of Study as a Checklist both to teach against and to
track the progress of each individual student
 It is about Therapy - Using the PLC as a Resource to improve
student know-how
 It is about Testing - Using the PLC to test know how and confirm
understanding
 It is about linking this work through the use of the Compelling
Scoreboard

6. A few examples
 History- these are my own and is based on a few of the modules of the AS and
A2 specification this is knowledge based.
 English- this was designed by Jon and Jo based on a PiXl model which, they
have made better and is skills based.
 English KS4 based on UMS and levels towards obtaining the next grade.
 Chemistry – PLC for students and teachers to track towards ALPs grade.
 Maths KS4 compelling scoreboard/PLC to show to students and to track where
students are at.
 Business and Finance- these are compelling scoreboards that allow students
and teachers to track their progress against points.
