English 111 Reflection
English 111 was the first class English class that I have taken since my senior year of high school in
2004. When I first signed up for the class I figured it was going to be a bit difficult with reading
assignments, I was not expecting to be writing 3 to 5 papers every other week which I found to
be hard at first. Within the first couple of weeks of the class I quickly learned that I had to be able
to manage my time carefully between work, home, and school or that I was not going to do well
at all. At first I found this to be hard due to my career in law enforcement, working 2 weeks of
days and 2 weeks nights makes it extremely hard to get anything done. Once I was able to manage
my time better by using a planner, I was able to focus more...show more content...
At first this seemed to be easy but I later began to notice the assignment might become boring to
some reader's. After finishing the assignment I felt good with the outcome but knew that I could
have written a better paper. This was obvious after the instructor reviewed the assignment and
gave me a grade that hit hard. This showed me first hand that I was a good writer but was far from
being prefect. After picking myself up, I reviewed the notes she provided and made the suggested
changes. I then resubmitted the assignment in hopes the changes were correct and I would get a
final grade that I knew I was capable of earning. After waiting the final grade was submitted and I
had earned a grade I knew I could earn. I know that without the help of my peers and the instructor
this would have not been

Evaluation Assignment
In this document I will be evaluating and analyzing aspects of the online resources provided by the
website ''www.sanjac.edu''. This report will help give potential students or individuals interested in
looking for valuable information regarding the decision of furthering their education with this highly
regarded community college. The topics that will be covered will consist of clarity of the website,
accessibility, and professional appearance as well.
The first topic that will be discussed is clarity of the website. The first page of the website you are
shown is the homepage. The top left corner of the website indicates it is the San Jacinto College
website in white lettering. It is typed in a large bold font to...show more content...
It must be able to be accessed easily and without hassle. It can be accessed from virtually any type
of device that has internet access. Some devices you could use to access the San Jac website are
laptops, computers, and phone devices. The website ''sanjac.edu'' is easy to remember and quite
simple as well, making it all the more easier to be accessed at any given time desired. An example
of some accessibility pertaining to this website could be the organization and how the website is
set up. Specifically speaking, towards the middle of the home front page there is black lettering
that reads ''GET STARTED HERE''. Underneath the lettering is a rectangular blue button with
white bold words that say, ''APPLY NOW TO SAN JAC'' and an orange button with white bold
words that reads, ''CLICK HERE TO REGISTER''. This area of the website immediately grabs the
users attention, especially a user looking to apply and register for San Jacinto College. This makes
it easier for a potential future student to locate this information, due to the bolded words, colorful
rectangular shapes, and placement of this information. The accessibility of this website is easy and

Reflective Essay: Course Analysis
Now that I have completed the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth course
Crafting the Essay, I feel I have tremendously grown as a writer. Even after submitting the first
assignment, I looked back at a position paper I wrote for school that I received an A+ on, yet I saw
several flaws I wished I had changed.
I feel I have significantly improved on my aspects of punctuation in grammar; the progressions
Leslie suggested to me on said aspects synchronized with the grammar lessons taught in my English
Honors class. I also feel that my vocabulary has developed extensively throughout the course, as well
as my structural and organizational skills in my writing pieces.
While I have radically improved as a writer throughout the...show more content...
If I stutter whatsoever or blatantly recognize a fault in my piece, I change it immediately. I also
wish I had less work outside of the course (such as schoolwork, housework, social events, etc.) so I
could have spent more time on my pieces for it. Some of my pieces were started only a few days
before the assignment was due, and I wished I had had more time to edit and proofread. I have
gained many insights I have gained about descriptive and narrative writing over this course. The
one that I will take the most away from the course is my realization of my own tone and voice
that I possess in my pieces and how to apply them in a narrative. I have also learned how to
develop a tone and voice for others when I am writing a piece from the perspective of them. There
are significant contrasts between characters, such as the wicked, selfish Amber and the kindhearted,
welcoming Horace from Assignment 3, and I have learned how to establish nuances in dialogue and
activity to individualize my characters. Although this insight may not apply to analytical writing, it
certainly applies to persuasive writing. Perhaps if I wanted to persuade someone in a letter, this
course helped me realize the tone I would need to establish in that letter to have him or her come to
the realization that they should do what I would like. Lastly, revision drastically strengthens my
drafts. As a writer, when I start

Reflective Essay On Class Participation
Class Participation First, you must show up to class. Then you need to ask questions, provide
feedback, suggest ideas, help a peer on the computer, etc. Students are expected to actively
participate in each class and in Blackboard discussions and assignments. Participation is defined as
working actively within the class or your assigned group(s), adding to the discussion of in–class
activities, whether role–plays debriefing, case analysis, or learning opportunities in the classroom,
and posting responses to and questions for discussion threads assigned in Blackboard.
Participation will be included as part of the grade in this course. You will be assessed on your
participation in the classroom (beyond simply attended class) and your participation in discussion
threads. So, you will have to actively be in class and participating each week to earn your points.
Active input from students in regard to their experience and opinions will enrich the class
experience. In addition, a student's interactive involvement in all discussion posts and assigned
activities is important for creating a shared learning environment. This includes during class as well
as participating in online discussions outside of class. Discussion Board Postings Each week we will
have an online discussion of the material assigned – text chapters, videos, audios, articles, etc.

Course Evaluation
Composition classes can sometimes be considered a hard course to take since it includes a lot of
reading and writing. However, there's never time to do anything but instead one must make the
time to complete whatever you set your mind on doing. English classes can be a challenge but as
long as you set yourself the goal to pass you will be able to achieve it. Expectations in this course
were met due to how well the course was organized and how properly reading material was relevant
to assigned coursework as well as appointed essays.
In my opinion, the textbook chapter that contributed the most to student learning was Chapter 4
because it provided the reader with essential information on critical thinking, reading, and writing.
Understanding the process on how to do these things are significant to the relating of the message
being read or written, consequently, dominating these skills can lead to success in college years
and future careers. I found myself using chapter 16 the most out all, it is the documentation unit,
which was extremely useful for the persuasive essays as we had to provide a work cited page.
Chapter 14 was essential to help our group assignment be completed because before reading over
it I had no clue on how to write a proposal this information will not only be beneficial for this course
but for future reference if I ever need to propose an idea on writing....show more content...

Essay On Evaluation Of Teaching
The Evaluation of Teaching Methods In US Universities Even the smartest students have certain
classes that they cannot focus in, no matter how hard they try. Everyone knows that no one is
exactly the same; for example, identical twins may look identical at first glance, if you look more
closely, you will notice differences between the two. This basic concept applies to teachers and
professors too. Every teacher has a different teaching method, some people may think that the
teaching methods are the same, but it is slightly different. This difference may be due to the
different subjects that the teachers are teaching or just the difference in personalities and teaching
styles that each teacher has. These differences greatly affect students' performances in numerous of
ways that one could not possibly think of. I had observed in several of my classes to compare and
contrast different teaching styles from my professors and the students' behaviors depending on the
subject and the professors. The classes that I have observed include General Chemistry 1, Calculus
2 and Asian Behaviors and Thought (ABT). Two of these classes are the main subjects with the last
one is a general education class in order to see the differences better and if there are any
similarities. Calculus 2 and ABT are both classroom based courses. I chose to observe General
Chemistry 1 because unlike the other two classes, this class is a lecture, which means there is no
doubt that the teaching methods of the

Self–Evaluation CENS 303A is my third distance online course at University of British Columbia. It
allowed me to learn about the history of the Holocaust, which is an event that I am not particularly
familiar. Even though we might not talk about this topic often, it's still something that we must never
forget. Not only did this course educate me about the timeline, historical figures involved but it also
helped me understand the realm of darkness in Auschwitz concentration camps. It is true that an
outsider might not understand how little value was placed on human life in those concentration
camps. Through reading Holocaust survivors' memoirs however, readers can get insights on the
reverence for life and recognize how human life was exterminated. The camp resembles a living
laboratory. The victims lived in virtual darkness and expelled from the world. They were isolated,

I went over texts that I found particularly interesting. Often times, subsequent readings can help
take on different levels of focus such as noticing the author's tone, details, and intellectual
thoughts. My favorite reading is Kluger's memoir because she had challenged my sympathies
towards Holocaust survivors. A clerk saved her from gas chambers by lying to a SS guard. When I
was wondering about the clerk's motive, Kluger's barbed line, "What more do you need for an
example of perfect goodness?" really caught me in a surprise. Next, the self–check questions after
every module are extremely helpful for preparing the midterm exam. When I failed to recall specific
dates or names, the explanations from the self–check questions were excellent sources for making
references. As of the web essay, I found it difficult because it forced me to revisit previous
readings to look for the specific facts. I think it would be more helpful if I took more time to
discuss the topic with my peers on the

Class Peer Evaluation
For my class peer evaluation I chose to observe on Friday September 30th, my second and third hour
class. My second hour class is World History and my third hour class is Pre Calculus.
In Word History I observed that many students would repeat the words. If the teacher were to be
talking, the student would paraphrase back to the teacher to check for understanding. This helped
the lesson to flow since students would make sure that they were understanding the curriculum.
During the class, everyone was very good at keeping eye contact. No one seemed to be looking
around the class spaced out. If the teacher was talking our eyes were on him to show that we were
listening. For the people who weren't paying attention I observed some of them stretched...show more

The students in that class are very good at paying attention. To create verbal communication, many
questions are asked. When the teacher was going through the section, any questions students had
they asked. This helped the class flow. As the lesson was being taught students followed along with
the notes. As examples were being shown on the board, students would write them down in there
notes. During the class, some students were listening to music. This was a negative feedback to the
teacher, since they were distracted from the math lesson. It caused a distraction which interrupted
their ability to understand what the teacher was saying. The teacher could tell from our class that
we were well focused in what he was teaching us. When we were taking notes and asking
questions, it showed him where understanding his lesson. The teacher could comprehend our
questions to see if he could rearrange his words to help us to better understand. The teacher was
given lots of positive feedback from our class with the way we interacted with him verbally and
non–verbaly. For a speaker signal I recognized that he used repetition to stress important parts of
his lesson. If he felt that something needed to be stressed he took more time on that section. This
way he indirectly told us that that certain part was a big part of the lesson. Throughout the lesson
I experienced a lack of time. The lesson was rushed since there are only so many minutes to a
class. This challenged me to be able to interpret all of the rules of the lesson since it was being put
into my brain in such a short amount of time. To overcome this I asked the teacher to meet at another

Evaluation And Observation Of A Teacher Essay
As a teacher, you have the responsibility to ensure that students are absorbing information
presented and observation is a vital aspect to this. The purpose of teachers is fundamentally the
same as leaders, to provide direction and motivation while operating to accomplish the mission, in
this case to educate. One goal of teacher supervision is instructional improvement. This perspective
is reinforced when Nolan and Hoover (2008) wrote "the purpose of supervision is to promote
individual teacher growth beyond the teacher's current level of performance" (p. 8). Supervision is
more involved than just an evaluation and observation of a teacher 's practice. Supervision, as
perceived by administrators, is a multi–faceted area with many responsibilities and many variables
within any given daily situation. If we view supervision as a service, it is difficult to see how
supervisors can maintain rapport with teachers if teachers perceive them as people who control their
destinies. For supervision to be successful, teachers want, or wish for the services of the supervisor
and value the trusting relationship that exists between them. Teachers need to feel the supervisor is
there to serve them and to help them become more effective teachers (Olivia and Pawlas, 2004).
During the pre–observation conference, I made sure that the meeting was a joint reflective effort and
was conversational in nature. Going to each of their classroom, I found the atmosphere was upbeat
and I expressed my

In-Class Skills Evaluation Self Analysis
In–Class Skills Evaluation Self Analysis In this self–assessment I will be writing an analyses of my
skills during my in class mini interview evaluation. I will be focusing on the following: relationship,
inform consent, micro–skills, and overall impression. Relationship: During the interview process I
do believe that I established a relationship with the client. I tried to be as transparent in showing
my sincere authenticity to her. Also I did let her know that as a worker I was very respectful to
whatever her needs may be and as an agency we are there to ensure that her needs are met within
our capacity. One thing I did make sure to mention to her was that we were here to help and support
her and not to change her. Informed Consent: During the interview I did inform the client that

would see the file would be myself, my supervisors and any other staff that works with her within the

I was not able to relay to her the benefits of the program, what the purpose is and why we collect
information from clients. I was not able to give her the option of her rights to participate in possible
ongoing goal planning for clients and the benefits of the harm reduction program. Due to the fact
that I was not able to relay the full informed consent she was no able to have the opportunity to have
the rights to refuse the services being offered through the harm

Evaluation Essay If you are looking for a class to meet both a general education and a diversity
requirement class I'd recommend taking Sociology 268. The class, Race and Ethnicity, is an
introduction course taught by Professor Kristina Cantin. I am going to evaluate this professor based
off of five criteria: subject knowledge and passion; setting high standards and clear classroom
objectives; ability to create a sense of community within the class; professor accessibility; and mutual
respect. The course focused on the eight common conversations about Race: "We're beyond race;"
"Racial diversity is killing us;" "Everyone's a little bit racist;" "It's just identity politics;" "Variety is

Module Evaluation Survey
Introduction
This individual report is based on a portfolio of evidence from our group project, from the initial
research, through design, development and testing of a user–centred organisational system, in our
case a university questionnaire designed to evaluate modules taught at the university, filled by the
current students and based on their module–related experience.
Aim of the project was to create user–friendly module evaluation survey containing the most relevant
student experience data which results could be visible to students and also reviewed by the
academic staff. This would provide them with an easy to understand module related feedback which
can be used to deepen the understanding of how a certain module is perceived by...show more

including legal and ethical issues relating to user data.)
Methods
(a referenced description and justification of the methods used to gather user requirements and to
design, develop and test your system. Explain your sample and ethical considerations. It should be
possible to reproduce your work from your description of the methods)
First step was to review the questionnaire prototype made by university. Intended users would be
students and academic staff. Decision was made to create a Context of Use – wrote the actual
conditions under which the survey will be used. Through further evaluation we identified the main
requirement which was also a technical constraint – an electronic/online rather than paper–based
survey which will have to be responsive on various devices.
To select the most effective and relevant research design, the team used a so called "Research
Onion" (Saunders, Lewis and Thornhill, Research Methods for Business Students, page 83, year
2015). As the most suitable research design for this project we selected the non–experimental
because it can be carried out in natural environment and survey is one example of this type

Student Evaluation of Educators Essay examples
Different opinions arise when it comes to whom is supposed to evaluate teachers' performances as
they educate students. Although teachers have had the proper education necessary to execute
education in a classroom, some lack skills to present material which students can fully comprehend.
In an effort to help students grasp learning material, the idea of students evaluating and grading their
teacher's performance has been suggested. This idea would be helpful to teachers who need views
on how to reach slower students and whom welcome helpful criticism. However, the entire
evaluation should not be based solely on students opinions. Teacher evaluations should not be done
solely by students. However, if students filled out 10% of a teacher...show more content...
Younger students are immature and tend to judge teachers based on the teacher's behavior and how
much the student likes the teacher. Unfortunately, student evaluations also could increase the
leniency teachers would allow in homework and other assignments decreasing education. Students
are not trained to evaluate their teachers. They do not have the expertise that professional evaluators
do. A current teacher evaluation includes: teacher interviews; which include a conference,
competency testing; which is used for hiring and certifying teachers, classroom observation; which is
highly used, student ratings; which are collected easily, peer review, student achievement, and
self–evaluation. Students have their own school work that places them under stress; they do not
need to have to worry about these different types of evaluations that they have to review and study to
understand in order to complete them. Much preparation would be required to complete a teacher
evaluation, meanwhile, students have their own responsibilities. The time that would be allotted
during a school day is not enough time to prepare for teacher evaluations. Teachers would be taking
time out of class to complete an evaluation lesson, this would take time out of necessary learning.
Joan Barrett, a ERIC author, stresses "that an effective evaluation program needs trained evaluators,
administrative staff allocated for evaluation time, a staff development program for teachers, and

Self Assessment Of The Classroom Essay
Self–Assessment in the Classroom
Self– Assessment is process by which students monitor and evaluate the quality of their thinking and
behavior when learning and then identify actions that could potentially improve their understanding
and skills. Furthermore, self–assessment occurs when students check the work they've accomplished
and identify discrepancies between current and desired performance (McMillan & Hearn, 2008).
Self–assessments can be used by the student and the teacher; a student would use it as a way to know
if they understand the information the teacher taught; the teacher can use self–assessment in order to
better the course or teaching techniques. When students self–assess their performance, it is important
that we know what techniques to apply and with effectiveness. I will be exploring how students
self–assess their work, and how you can encourage better self–assessment technique. This paper will
also review studies that relate to self–assessment and what has been done to enhance their use. In all
studies used, only English as a first language students and students that are not going through special
education were able to participate in the study. This method of assessment can be integrated into
various classroom activities as well as traditional assessments. The ability to self–assess one's
learning will encourage independence as a student, where you do not to rely on the criticism of
others in order to improve yourself.

Mid–Self Evaluation Essay As this semester has begun, and I have begun to adjust to this course's

When we do participate in peer reviews and reflections I make sure I do not rush my work and am

timeliness, effort, improvement, participation in class discussion), peer support, surprise quizzes:

support and advice, and have done very well on the surprise quizzes we've had. Peer editing has
helped me become a stronger and more fluid writer this semester. I've never actually done peer
editing within a familiar group before every paper, so having a specific day to read and comment on
one another's writing in detail has truly helped me formulate better essays overall. It has helped me
not only to see small mistakes I've made, but how the reader or audience interprets my work. Aside
from peer editing inside the classroom I've taken my papers to the writing center and you for advice
and help. I think that through the use of these sources it has helped me to develop stronger claims,
better fluidity, and coherency. By formulating ideal structures, engaging in peer editing, and creating
reflection pieces, they have helped me generate overall better papers.

The Class Evaluation I Found
From the class evaluation I found that my work has been produced to a high standard and that
most of the work produced my peers were very different. I found that most of the class did
something on the basis of fine art photograph and the majority of us shot in portraiture. I found
that through my own work I have been very decisive with my idea and concept for the final
photograph. When we were doing our final evaluation and feedback to our peers I felt that at
times my work was too simple as a final image, I found that I was more attracted towards the in
depth process of shooting and setting myself a target instead of thinking of the actual sins and
shooting the photograph with a different meaning like a peer from my class he created a still life
shot from all the different sins with props that represented each sin. I found that this idea was
very cleaver and he used his research to make something that had its own unique meaning. Now
looking back at my own work I feel that in some parts of the project I could of use more of my
research to shoot something more unique and interesting but at the time I felt that the visual final
image was more important than the background meaning and that was how I went towards setting
the scene for the shoot. I like the way that my final image has came out and fully believe that it is
impactful and carries a strong emotion of wrath inside my model. Looking back to my final image
there are several factors in which I find

Evaluation Of A Classroom Management
Classroom management is a set of methods and skills used by educators to assist students in being
more organized, alert, thoughtful, disciplined as well as being more academically productive.
Classroom management when used correctly and effectively can help teachers maintain and control
behaviors that may hinder learning for the class or a particular student, while at the same time
maximizing behaviors that enhance learning for the students (Classroom Management, 2014). A
practice that can contribute to an effective classroom management could be an entry routine. An
entry routine is a method that teachers use to establish a consistent schedule that begins when the
students enter the classroom each and every day. This routine could be pre–arranged seat
assignments, students passing in assignments due, having books, paper and pencils ready or having
a "warm–up" activity at the beginning of class. This type of routine helps maintain order in the
classroom and avoids wasting valuable learning time at the beginning of the class (Classroom
Management, 2014). In addition to entry routine, another excellent example of classroom
management at the beginning of class can be a Do Now. A Do Now is an activity that the students
are given at the start of class, which is usually a written response to a question on the board. This
activity gets students ready for class by getting the students focused and prepared for instructions
(Classroom Management, 2014). A final example of a

Essay on Writing Self-Evaluation
I believe it is important for any student who wants to do their best in a class to take a moment to
evaluate their own work to determine the rate their writing is progressing and how they can
continue to advance their writing. When I looked through my own work I asked myself "what have
I learned this semester?" and "what do I still need to learn in order to improve my writing?".
Answering both these questions will help me with my last step of my self–evaluation, developing a
plan to learn new skills.
During this semester, I have strengthened my writing by trying new writing techniques, learning
about purpose, and finding new ways of combating writers block. My first essay in this class was
less focused then the essays I wrote later in...show more content...
I have struggled with writer's block with often. In the past, I've learned to take breaks while
writing to help alleviate symptoms of writers block; however, during the semester I have learned
to carry a pad of paper with me so that I can write down idea's while they are fresh in my mind.
Writing down my thoughts has helped me avoid writers block because I have a list of thoughts
about the subject before I have even started writing. When I struggle less to write it improves my
essay's by decreasing my stress, this can be seen in my writing. I was afflicted with writer's block
while trying to write both my compare and contrast essay and my description essay, this caused
me a lot of stress and caused my essay to suffer. On the other hand, when I wrote my classify and
divide essay I did not have to deal with writer's block. As a result the stress level was greatly
decreased and the improvement is substantial.
Although my writing has made some good progress during the course of this semester, I still some
things I need to learn in order to keep improving my writing. Grammar, writing in an active voice,
and building my rewrite skills are three examples of skills I need to build upon to continue to
improve me writing.
Even though my grammar has improved during the progression of this class, I still have a lot to

Evaluation Model Case Study
How to Apply the Evaluation Models
"The evaluation of a proposed technology must be very careful, considering and identifying all the
factors that will affect the whole organization" (Bakouros, 2000, p.3). In the context of learning
technology, program evaluations usually concern the educational value of innovations, or the
pragmatics of introducing novel teaching techniques and resources Oliver (2000).
This section will briefly discuss how to apply each type of the formentioned evaluation models in
evaluating the use of web–based resources by small groups formed in a grade 10 social studies class.
In this case, the participates of the study are students of a grade 10 social study class. The program's
outcomes to be evaluated are...show more content...
The survey question will include: What did you think about using the web–based resources? Did you
feel using the web–based resources is useful for improving your communication competence? What
individual components were valuable to you? (2) measures of learning attributed to the program:
conduct tests on students' communication competence before and after the use the web–based
resources, compare the results to assess what students learned during the program. (3) changes in
learner behavior in the context for which they are being trained: interview the teacher about the
students' communication competence, survey the students about their communication competence.
Repeat the evaluation several times during and after the use of web–based resources. (4) the
program's final results in its larger context: conduct tests on students' communication competence
before and after the use of web–based resources, compare the result to assess the program's impacts.
The Logic Model
The evaluation will encompass the following four parts. (1) Input: include the availability of
computer and software resources, internet connection, teacher's internet skills, teacher's time for
observating, interview and activivies, subject–based teacher collaboration, and the social study
departmental support. (2) Activities: include observation

My Self-Evaluation Of Speech
This paper will discuss mine self–evaluation and do into detail about my first speech. My first
speech takes place in front of my class and I have to tell a story of an experience that has
happened to me. Telling a speech was a new experience for me and I embrace the challenge. A
speech can have an impact on a person life and the audience can also relate a topic that is being
presented. I will explore and go into the details of ethos, pathos and logos of my speech for my
personal assessment. I think I did a good job presenting my ethos through my speech story. I
convince my audience with my credibility through my speech and the way how talk throughout
the speech. For example, throughout my whole speech, I shown my hands and did not hide my
hands. By keeping my hands in plain view, it shows my audience nonverbally that I can be
trusted. The volume of my voice was at a normal speaking tone and was not too low. Most of my
audience was able to hear me and listen to me very clearly. I also presented myself with
confidence and gave off the impression that I was prepared. For example, I had a smile and had
constant eye contact with my audience throughout my speech. There was certain things that I was
doing that was ineffective while I was talking. Throughout my speech, I kept saying um and was
pausing at times. I did not realize how much I was saying and doing these actions. These actions are
something I need to work on more when I present my public communication to my audience

Class Evaluation Essay

  • 1. English 111 Reflection English 111 was the first class English class that I have taken since my senior year of high school in 2004. When I first signed up for the class I figured it was going to be a bit difficult with reading assignments, I was not expecting to be writing 3 to 5 papers every other week which I found to be hard at first. Within the first couple of weeks of the class I quickly learned that I had to be able to manage my time carefully between work, home, and school or that I was not going to do well at all. At first I found this to be hard due to my career in law enforcement, working 2 weeks of days and 2 weeks nights makes it extremely hard to get anything done. Once I was able to manage my time better by using a planner, I was able to focus more...show more content... At first this seemed to be easy but I later began to notice the assignment might become boring to some reader's. After finishing the assignment I felt good with the outcome but knew that I could have written a better paper. This was obvious after the instructor reviewed the assignment and gave me a grade that hit hard. This showed me first hand that I was a good writer but was far from being prefect. After picking myself up, I reviewed the notes she provided and made the suggested changes. I then resubmitted the assignment in hopes the changes were correct and I would get a final grade that I knew I was capable of earning. After waiting the final grade was submitted and I had earned a grade I knew I could earn. I know that without the help of my peers and the instructor this would have not been Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Example Of Evaluation Assignment Evaluation Assignment In this document I will be evaluating and analyzing aspects of the online resources provided by the website ''www.sanjac.edu''. This report will help give potential students or individuals interested in looking for valuable information regarding the decision of furthering their education with this highly regarded community college. The topics that will be covered will consist of clarity of the website, accessibility, and professional appearance as well. The first topic that will be discussed is clarity of the website. The first page of the website you are shown is the homepage. The top left corner of the website indicates it is the San Jacinto College website in white lettering. It is typed in a large bold font to...show more content... It must be able to be accessed easily and without hassle. It can be accessed from virtually any type of device that has internet access. Some devices you could use to access the San Jac website are laptops, computers, and phone devices. The website ''sanjac.edu'' is easy to remember and quite simple as well, making it all the more easier to be accessed at any given time desired. An example of some accessibility pertaining to this website could be the organization and how the website is set up. Specifically speaking, towards the middle of the home front page there is black lettering that reads ''GET STARTED HERE''. Underneath the lettering is a rectangular blue button with white bold words that say, ''APPLY NOW TO SAN JAC'' and an orange button with white bold words that reads, ''CLICK HERE TO REGISTER''. This area of the website immediately grabs the users attention, especially a user looking to apply and register for San Jacinto College. This makes it easier for a potential future student to locate this information, due to the bolded words, colorful rectangular shapes, and placement of this information. • 3. Reflective Essay: Course Analysis Now that I have completed the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth course Crafting the Essay, I feel I have tremendously grown as a writer. Even after submitting the first assignment, I looked back at a position paper I wrote for school that I received an A+ on, yet I saw several flaws I wished I had changed. I feel I have significantly improved on my aspects of punctuation in grammar; the progressions Leslie suggested to me on said aspects synchronized with the grammar lessons taught in my English Honors class. I also feel that my vocabulary has developed extensively throughout the course, as well as my structural and organizational skills in my writing pieces. While I have radically improved as a writer throughout the...show more content... If I stutter whatsoever or blatantly recognize a fault in my piece, I change it immediately. I also wish I had less work outside of the course (such as schoolwork, housework, social events, etc.) so I could have spent more time on my pieces for it. Some of my pieces were started only a few days before the assignment was due, and I wished I had had more time to edit and proofread. I have gained many insights I have gained about descriptive and narrative writing over this course. The one that I will take the most away from the course is my realization of my own tone and voice that I possess in my pieces and how to apply them in a narrative. I have also learned how to develop a tone and voice for others when I am writing a piece from the perspective of them. There are significant contrasts between characters, such as the wicked, selfish Amber and the kindhearted, welcoming Horace from Assignment 3, and I have learned how to establish nuances in dialogue and activity to individualize my characters. Although this insight may not apply to analytical writing, it certainly applies to persuasive writing. Perhaps if I wanted to persuade someone in a letter, this course helped me realize the tone I would need to establish in that letter to have him or her come to the realization that they should do what I would like. Lastly, revision drastically strengthens my drafts. As a writer, when I start Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Reflective Essay On Class Participation Class Participation First, you must show up to class. Then you need to ask questions, provide feedback, suggest ideas, help a peer on the computer, etc. Students are expected to actively participate in each class and in Blackboard discussions and assignments. Participation is defined as working actively within the class or your assigned group(s), adding to the discussion of in–class activities, whether role–plays debriefing, case analysis, or learning opportunities in the classroom, and posting responses to and questions for discussion threads assigned in Blackboard. Participation will be included as part of the grade in this course. You will be assessed on your participation in the classroom (beyond simply attended class) and your participation in discussion threads. So, you will have to actively be in class and participating each week to earn your points. Active input from students in regard to their experience and opinions will enrich the class experience. In addition, a student's interactive involvement in all discussion posts and assigned activities is important for creating a shared learning environment. This includes during class as well as participating in online discussions outside of class. Discussion Board Postings Each week we will have an online discussion of the material assigned – text chapters, videos, audios, articles, etc. ‐‐by your instructor. These discussions are for the purpose of exploring the assignments, the ideas presented, your Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Course Evaluation Composition classes can sometimes be considered a hard course to take since it includes a lot of reading and writing. However, there's never time to do anything but instead one must make the time to complete whatever you set your mind on doing. English classes can be a challenge but as long as you set yourself the goal to pass you will be able to achieve it. Expectations in this course were met due to how well the course was organized and how properly reading material was relevant to assigned coursework as well as appointed essays. In my opinion, the textbook chapter that contributed the most to student learning was Chapter 4 because it provided the reader with essential information on critical thinking, reading, and writing. Understanding the process on how to do these things are significant to the relating of the message being read or written, consequently, dominating these skills can lead to success in college years and future careers. I found myself using chapter 16 the most out all, it is the documentation unit, which was extremely useful for the persuasive essays as we had to provide a work cited page. Chapter 14 was essential to help our group assignment be completed because before reading over it I had no clue on how to write a proposal this information will not only be beneficial for this course but for future reference if I ever need to propose an idea on writing....show more content... • 6. Essay On Evaluation Of Teaching The Evaluation of Teaching Methods In US Universities Even the smartest students have certain classes that they cannot focus in, no matter how hard they try. Everyone knows that no one is exactly the same; for example, identical twins may look identical at first glance, if you look more closely, you will notice differences between the two. This basic concept applies to teachers and professors too. Every teacher has a different teaching method, some people may think that the teaching methods are the same, but it is slightly different. This difference may be due to the different subjects that the teachers are teaching or just the difference in personalities and teaching styles that each teacher has. These differences greatly affect students' performances in numerous of ways that one could not possibly think of. I had observed in several of my classes to compare and contrast different teaching styles from my professors and the students' behaviors depending on the subject and the professors. The classes that I have observed include General Chemistry 1, Calculus 2 and Asian Behaviors and Thought (ABT). Two of these classes are the main subjects with the last one is a general education class in order to see the differences better and if there are any similarities. Calculus 2 and ABT are both classroom based courses. I chose to observe General Chemistry 1 because unlike the other two classes, this class is a lecture, which means there is no doubt that the teaching methods of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Evaluation Essay On Self Evaluation Self–Evaluation CENS 303A is my third distance online course at University of British Columbia. It allowed me to learn about the history of the Holocaust, which is an event that I am not particularly familiar. Even though we might not talk about this topic often, it's still something that we must never forget. Not only did this course educate me about the timeline, historical figures involved but it also helped me understand the realm of darkness in Auschwitz concentration camps. It is true that an outsider might not understand how little value was placed on human life in those concentration camps. Through reading Holocaust survivors' memoirs however, readers can get insights on the reverence for life and recognize how human life was exterminated. The camp resembles a living laboratory. The victims lived in virtual darkness and expelled from the world. They were isolated, ...show more content... I went over texts that I found particularly interesting. Often times, subsequent readings can help take on different levels of focus such as noticing the author's tone, details, and intellectual thoughts. My favorite reading is Kluger's memoir because she had challenged my sympathies towards Holocaust survivors. A clerk saved her from gas chambers by lying to a SS guard. When I was wondering about the clerk's motive, Kluger's barbed line, "What more do you need for an example of perfect goodness?" really caught me in a surprise. Next, the self–check questions after every module are extremely helpful for preparing the midterm exam. When I failed to recall specific dates or names, the explanations from the self–check questions were excellent sources for making references. As of the web essay, I found it difficult because it forced me to revisit previous readings to look for the specific facts. I think it would be more helpful if I took more time to discuss the topic with my peers on the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Class Peer Evaluation For my class peer evaluation I chose to observe on Friday September 30th, my second and third hour class. My second hour class is World History and my third hour class is Pre Calculus. In Word History I observed that many students would repeat the words. If the teacher were to be talking, the student would paraphrase back to the teacher to check for understanding. This helped the lesson to flow since students would make sure that they were understanding the curriculum. During the class, everyone was very good at keeping eye contact. No one seemed to be looking around the class spaced out. If the teacher was talking our eyes were on him to show that we were listening. For the people who weren't paying attention I observed some of them stretched...show more content... The students in that class are very good at paying attention. To create verbal communication, many questions are asked. When the teacher was going through the section, any questions students had they asked. This helped the class flow. As the lesson was being taught students followed along with the notes. As examples were being shown on the board, students would write them down in there notes. During the class, some students were listening to music. This was a negative feedback to the teacher, since they were distracted from the math lesson. It caused a distraction which interrupted their ability to understand what the teacher was saying. The teacher could tell from our class that we were well focused in what he was teaching us. When we were taking notes and asking questions, it showed him where understanding his lesson. The teacher could comprehend our questions to see if he could rearrange his words to help us to better understand. The teacher was given lots of positive feedback from our class with the way we interacted with him verbally and non–verbaly. For a speaker signal I recognized that he used repetition to stress important parts of his lesson. If he felt that something needed to be stressed he took more time on that section. This way he indirectly told us that that certain part was a big part of the lesson. Throughout the lesson I experienced a lack of time. The lesson was rushed since there are only so many minutes to a class. This challenged me to be able to interpret all of the rules of the lesson since it was being put into my brain in such a short amount of time. To overcome this I asked the teacher to meet at another time to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Evaluation And Observation Of A Teacher Essay As a teacher, you have the responsibility to ensure that students are absorbing information presented and observation is a vital aspect to this. The purpose of teachers is fundamentally the same as leaders, to provide direction and motivation while operating to accomplish the mission, in this case to educate. One goal of teacher supervision is instructional improvement. This perspective is reinforced when Nolan and Hoover (2008) wrote "the purpose of supervision is to promote individual teacher growth beyond the teacher's current level of performance" (p. 8). Supervision is more involved than just an evaluation and observation of a teacher 's practice. Supervision, as perceived by administrators, is a multi–faceted area with many responsibilities and many variables within any given daily situation. If we view supervision as a service, it is difficult to see how supervisors can maintain rapport with teachers if teachers perceive them as people who control their destinies. For supervision to be successful, teachers want, or wish for the services of the supervisor and value the trusting relationship that exists between them. Teachers need to feel the supervisor is there to serve them and to help them become more effective teachers (Olivia and Pawlas, 2004). During the pre–observation conference, I made sure that the meeting was a joint reflective effort and was conversational in nature. Going to each of their classroom, I found the atmosphere was upbeat and I expressed my Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I will be focusing on the following: relationship, inform consent, micro–skills, and overall impression. Relationship: During the interview process I do believe that I established a relationship with the client. I tried to be as transparent in showing my sincere authenticity to her. Also I did let her know that as a worker I was very respectful to whatever her needs may be and as an agency we are there to ensure that her needs are met within our capacity. One thing I did make sure to mention to her was that we were here to help and support her and not to change her. The class, Race and Ethnicity, is an introduction course taught by Professor Kristina Cantin. I am going to evaluate this professor based off of five criteria: subject knowledge and passion; setting high standards and clear classroom objectives; ability to create a sense of community within the class; professor accessibility; and mutual respect. Aim of the project was to create user–friendly module evaluation survey containing the most relevant student experience data which results could be visible to students and also reviewed by the academic staff. To select the most effective and relevant research design, the team used a so called "Research Onion" (Saunders, Lewis and Thornhill, Research Methods for Business Students, page 83, year 2015). • 13. Student Evaluation of Educators Essay examples Different opinions arise when it comes to whom is supposed to evaluate teachers' performances as they educate students. Although teachers have had the proper education necessary to execute education in a classroom, some lack skills to present material which students can fully comprehend. In an effort to help students grasp learning material, the idea of students evaluating and grading their teacher's performance has been suggested. This idea would be helpful to teachers who need views on how to reach slower students and whom welcome helpful criticism. However, the entire evaluation should not be based solely on students opinions. Teacher evaluations should not be done solely by students. However, if students filled out 10% of a teacher...show more content... Younger students are immature and tend to judge teachers based on the teacher's behavior and how much the student likes the teacher. Unfortunately, student evaluations also could increase the leniency teachers would allow in homework and other assignments decreasing education. Students are not trained to evaluate their teachers. They do not have the expertise that professional evaluators do. A current teacher evaluation includes: teacher interviews; which include a conference, competency testing; which is used for hiring and certifying teachers, classroom observation; which is highly used, student ratings; which are collected easily, peer review, student achievement, and self–evaluation. Students have their own school work that places them under stress; they do not need to have to worry about these different types of evaluations that they have to review and study to understand in order to complete them. Much preparation would be required to complete a teacher evaluation, meanwhile, students have their own responsibilities. The time that would be allotted during a school day is not enough time to prepare for teacher evaluations. Teachers would be taking time out of class to complete an evaluation lesson, this would take time out of necessary learning. Joan Barrett, a ERIC author, stresses "that an effective evaluation program needs trained evaluators, administrative staff allocated for evaluation time, a staff development program for teachers, and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Self Assessment Of The Classroom Essay Self–Assessment in the Classroom Self– Assessment is process by which students monitor and evaluate the quality of their thinking and behavior when learning and then identify actions that could potentially improve their understanding and skills. Furthermore, self–assessment occurs when students check the work they've accomplished and identify discrepancies between current and desired performance (McMillan & Hearn, 2008). Self–assessments can be used by the student and the teacher; a student would use it as a way to know if they understand the information the teacher taught; the teacher can use self–assessment in order to better the course or teaching techniques. When students self–assess their performance, it is important that we know what techniques to apply and with effectiveness. I will be exploring how students self–assess their work, and how you can encourage better self–assessment technique. This paper will also review studies that relate to self–assessment and what has been done to enhance their use. In all studies used, only English as a first language students and students that are not going through special education were able to participate in the study. This method of assessment can be integrated into various classroom activities as well as traditional assessments. The ability to self–assess one's learning will encourage independence as a student, where you do not to rely on the criticism of others in order to improve yourself. Although I do the work and get a good grade, I always feel uncertain before posting a blog or turning in my final assignment. Peer editing has helped me become a stronger and more fluid writer this semester. I've never actually done peer editing within a familiar group before every paper, so having a specific day to read and comment on one another's writing in detail has truly helped me formulate better essays overall. It has helped me not only to see small mistakes I've made, but how the reader or audience interprets my work. Aside from peer editing inside the classroom I've taken my papers to the writing center and you for advice and help. I think that through the use of these sources it has helped me to develop stronger claims, better fluidity, and coherency. By formulating ideal structures, engaging in peer editing, and creating reflection pieces, they have helped me generate overall better papers. • 16. The Class Evaluation I Found From the class evaluation I found that my work has been produced to a high standard and that most of the work produced my peers were very different. I found that most of the class did something on the basis of fine art photograph and the majority of us shot in portraiture. I found that through my own work I have been very decisive with my idea and concept for the final photograph. When we were doing our final evaluation and feedback to our peers I felt that at times my work was too simple as a final image, I found that I was more attracted towards the in depth process of shooting and setting myself a target instead of thinking of the actual sins and shooting the photograph with a different meaning like a peer from my class he created a still life shot from all the different sins with props that represented each sin. I found that this idea was very cleaver and he used his research to make something that had its own unique meaning. Now looking back at my own work I feel that in some parts of the project I could of use more of my research to shoot something more unique and interesting but at the time I felt that the visual final image was more important than the background meaning and that was how I went towards setting the scene for the shoot. I like the way that my final image has came out and fully believe that it is impactful and carries a strong emotion of wrath inside my model. • 17. Evaluation Of A Classroom Management Classroom management is a set of methods and skills used by educators to assist students in being more organized, alert, thoughtful, disciplined as well as being more academically productive. Classroom management when used correctly and effectively can help teachers maintain and control behaviors that may hinder learning for the class or a particular student, while at the same time maximizing behaviors that enhance learning for the students (Classroom Management, 2014). A practice that can contribute to an effective classroom management could be an entry routine. An entry routine is a method that teachers use to establish a consistent schedule that begins when the students enter the classroom each and every day. This routine could be pre–arranged seat assignments, students passing in assignments due, having books, paper and pencils ready or having a "warm–up" activity at the beginning of class. This type of routine helps maintain order in the classroom and avoids wasting valuable learning time at the beginning of the class (Classroom Management, 2014). In addition to entry routine, another excellent example of classroom management at the beginning of class can be a Do Now. A Do Now is an activity that the students are given at the start of class, which is usually a written response to a question on the board. Essay on Writing Self-Evaluation I believe it is important for any student who wants to do their best in a class to take a moment to evaluate their own work to determine the rate their writing is progressing and how they can continue to advance their writing. When I looked through my own work I asked myself "what have I learned this semester?" and "what do I still need to learn in order to improve my writing?". Answering both these questions will help me with my last step of my self–evaluation, developing a plan to learn new skills. During this semester, I have strengthened my writing by trying new writing techniques, learning about purpose, and finding new ways of combating writers block. My first essay in this class was less focused then the essays I wrote later in...show more content... I have struggled with writer's block with often. In the past, I've learned to take breaks while writing to help alleviate symptoms of writers block; however, during the semester I have learned to carry a pad of paper with me so that I can write down idea's while they are fresh in my mind. Writing down my thoughts has helped me avoid writers block because I have a list of thoughts about the subject before I have even started writing. When I struggle less to write it improves my essay's by decreasing my stress, this can be seen in my writing. I was afflicted with writer's block while trying to write both my compare and contrast essay and my description essay, this caused me a lot of stress and caused my essay to suffer. On the other hand, when I wrote my classify and divide essay I did not have to deal with writer's block. As a result the stress level was greatly decreased and the improvement is substantial. Although my writing has made some good progress during the course of this semester, I still some things I need to learn in order to keep improving my writing. Grammar, writing in an active voice, and building my rewrite skills are three examples of skills I need to build upon to continue to improve me writing. Even though my grammar has improved during the progression of this class, I still have a lot to learn before my knowledge of grammar can contribute to my writing. I have never had an aptitude for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Evaluation Model Case Study How to Apply the Evaluation Models "The evaluation of a proposed technology must be very careful, considering and identifying all the factors that will affect the whole organization" (Bakouros, 2000, p.3). In the context of learning technology, program evaluations usually concern the educational value of innovations, or the pragmatics of introducing novel teaching techniques and resources Oliver (2000). • 20. My Self-Evaluation Of Speech This paper will discuss mine self–evaluation and do into detail about my first speech. My first speech takes place in front of my class and I have to tell a story of an experience that has happened to me. Telling a speech was a new experience for me and I embrace the challenge. A speech can have an impact on a person life and the audience can also relate a topic that is being presented. I will explore and go into the details of ethos, pathos and logos of my speech for my personal assessment. I think I did a good job presenting my ethos through my speech story. I convince my audience with my credibility through my speech and the way how talk throughout the speech. For example, throughout my whole speech, I shown my hands and did not hide my hands. By keeping my hands in plain view, it shows my audience nonverbally that I can be trusted. The volume of my voice was at a normal speaking tone and was not too low. Most of my audience was able to hear me and listen to me very clearly. I also presented myself with confidence and gave off the impression that I was prepared. For example, I had a smile and had constant eye contact with my audience throughout my speech. There was certain things that I was doing that was ineffective while I was talking. Throughout my speech, I kept saying um and was pausing at times. I did not realize how much I was saying and doing these actions. These actions are something I need to work on more when I present my public communication to my audience Get more content on HelpWriting.net
