Earn
• Go to geobadges.org and explore
• Find a GeoBadge that fits your skills and interests
• Read about the GeoBadge to learn what it involves
• Complete the steps
• Create a Credly Account if you need it
• Submit your evidence and earn your GeoBadge!
• Share your GeoBadge on social media accounts like LinkedIn
Create
• Submit your GeoBadge idea to the Peer Review Committee
• Use your log-in credentials to start creating your GeoBadge
• Add your “Overview” specifications and your “Lesson Steps”
• Submit your GeoBadge for approval by the Review Team
• Once your GeoBadge is approved an “Icon” will be added and
earners will be able to find it and begin earning you’ll receive email
notifications to approve learners requesting to earn your badge
Issue Badges
• Receive email notices from earners requesting to earn your badge.
• Visit the GeoBadges credly account and respond to earner requests
12. CREATE
• Once you’re accepted, you’ll have “Creator” log-in
credentials that let you create your GeoBadge
13. CREATE
• The first step is to provide detailed “overview”
information – indicating what age groups your
badge target, what evidence it requires, etc.
14. CREATE
• After you’ve completed full background
information on your GeoBadge, start building the
steps in your lesson!
15. CREATE
• Each step in your lesson can have text, videos, or
images. Once you’ve created all your steps, you’ll
submit the GeoBadge for evaluation by the Review
Team
16. CREATE
• If you no longer want to offer your GeoBadge for learners to earn,
you can always “deactivate it” so it doesn’t show up in the search.
If you want to delete it completely, you’ll have to reach out to the
administrator.
18. ISSUE
• Once the Review Team accepts your GeoBadge, learners
can start to discover it and earn it! Each time an earner
requests to “earn” your badge, you will receive an email
directing you to evaluate their submission
19. ISSUE
• To evaluate the evidence of a submission, you will
go to the American Geographical Society
GeoBadges account on credly.com, then Our Credit
> Created > Requests. Click on the request for the
badge you manage, assess evidence, and “Issue”.
20. TAG & COMMENT
• Any visitor to GeoBadges.org can always add
additional “tags” to badges that will help others
find the badge, or add comments with ideas and
suggestions..
