“In My Mother’s House,” a novel
My first novel, “In My Mother’s House,” was published in 2012. It was a finalist for the (Philippine) National Book
Award in 2013 and was awarded the Special Jury Prize in the UST Quadricentennial Literary Prize in 2012, when it
was still in manuscript form.
English Conversation Group ∙ Brooklyn Public Library ∙ April 2015 to Present
The Brooklyn Public Library’s English Conversation Group is a free service for anyone who is seeking to practice
their listening and speaking skills in English. Attendees have ranged from students and recent immigrants to
longterm residents who are looking for a friendly and helpful environment to improve their language skills. I lead a
conversation group at the Mapleton branch every Saturday.
