1. Chalking it up John Davis Mentoring & Collaborative Leadership June 2010 A six week look into the partnership with Mrs. Jan Jennison, a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at the John F. Kennedy Elementary School. We worked collaboratively on technology integration within the Early Childhood curriculum.

3. Collaboration: the “Planning Task” strategy The teacher and I looked over a unit of study and examined how technology could be infused within the lessons. We talked it through and came up with an action plan to solve the technology integration problem.
4. Coaching: the “Thinking & Problem Solving” strategy The teacher observed me teach in the computer lab using different forms of technology. I had the teacher assist as I taught the lesson, to provide a more hands-on approach in learning.

7. Time to Share… Teamwork and collaboration is key to any successful organization mentoring new employees. With an effective team that works closely with one another, any new individual can be provided the resources and tools to succeed. As a mentor, do not be afraid to learn from the mentee. Mentees, although can be quiet, have a wealth of information ready to be shared with the world. Promote, encourage and request the mentee to share his/herknowledge. As a mentee, do not be afraid to question, share and be actively involved with the learning process. If you do not get your hands a little dirty, you will always be one step behind.
