2. You’re Only Young Once (YOYO)
Key verse:
Ecclesiastes 11:9
“Rejoice, O young man, in your
youth, and let your heart cheer you
in the days of your youth.
3. Walk in the ways of your heart and
the sight of your eyes. But know
that for all these things God will
bring you into judgment.”
4. Enjoy it with all your heart and soul,
because your teen years will one day be
a memory in history and never come
back. Take pictures, keep a journal, etc.
Don't you want to remember the good
times of high school, not the drama and
bad times.
5. Please be a smart and safe driver when
you are learning/getting your license.
Never drink and drive. It will scar you
forever if you do something you wish
you didn't.
6. Don't pretend to be something you're not,
eventually people are going to realize
you're not being sincere. Get ideas from
that person, but don't try to be like that
person.
7. Don't dress sloppy because it can get you
into trouble, and don't wear too much
makeup because it makes you look bad!
Show your natural beauty!
8. Exercise! It helps with stress, and may
even make you happier than usual.
9. Many teens have trouble understanding
that one does not have to have a
boyfriend or girlfriend to have a good
teen life.
Many singles are having fun, too. Being
single will give you more time for your
friends, your activities, your education,
your job, and your hobbies.
10. You have all your life to be in a
relationship. Maybe it might be the best
advice to get your act together before
you consider dating, and you may have a
lot more picking when you are in college
and in the real world when you are less
focused on popularity.
11. Listen to your parents. They know what
It's like, and they can help you.
12. The message of YOYO is to make
young people aware of the time
we have nowand what
we can do with it
versus what we are actually doing
with it.
13. So many young people are in a
hurry to do “grown up” things
that we don’t realize we are
wasting the advantage of NOW.
From around 18 years old to
sometime late 20’s, we are
actually at our
fittest, most able
stage.
14. Why rush the years of marriage,
family life, and everything else
that comes along when we can
deal with that in our 30’s?
Why not use the most able, most
vibrant of years to actually do
something we can’t
anymore manage
to do as much
when we’re tied
down with…
15. … spouses and children and bills
to take care of?
This energized, “free” phase of
our lives is the best time to plant
the trees we want to see in the
future, the best time to invest in
things (or people!)
that can outlive
our lives.
16. It is the best time to culture a
breed of new leaders to take our
place and continue what we’ve
started.
17. Basically our message to the
young people would be …
“Whoever you are, whatever
you’re doing in life right now,
whenever you hear God’s call,
and wherever you may be –
you’re only young once.
Use it well.
Live for the next
generation.”
18.
19. BE RESTLESS!
[a key in being a risk-taker]
Never to yet think of being SETTLED!
=== the advantage of NOW! ===
