•Domain – it is the set of all the variables of the
first coordinates (also called as the x).
•Range - it is the set of all the variables of the
second coordinates (also called as the y).

It is a relation in which element of the domain (x)
corresponds to exactly one element of the range
(y).

It is a pair of numbers or coordinates arranged
according to their position in the number line. They
are usually enclosed with a parentheses.
Ex: (-1,3), (1,5), (3,7)

equation is a Function?

8. Vertical Line Test
It is a method to test if the given relation is really a
function by using an imaginary vertical line. If the
graph touches the vertical line on 1 point, it is a
function. But if it touches the graph on 2 or more
points, it is not a function.
