Mushrooms may help cancer therapy according to a study by John E Smith of University of Strathclyde, Richard Sullivan of Cancer Research UK, and Neil Rowan of Athlone Institue of Technology. Certain mushrooms like Reishi, Shiitake and Maitake contain compounds that may boost the immune system and help fight cancer cells. Further research is needed to fully understand how different mushrooms may be developed into future cancer treatments.
