5. DIGITAL GAPHICS DESIGN competition

Role - Digital Graphic Designer
I was screened through to the technical assessment
stage of the Digital Graphic Designer competition
and was required to design social media graphics,
and a reel, basing my designs on social media posts/
reels that are consistent with the look and feel for
government social media.

7. Process
I designed branded icons and branded the BC map,
and used appropriate font to match that of the BC
Public Service style. I used strong big text that's
readable and tested the colours for accessibility
using the WCAG 2.0 contrast checker.

Task - Technical Assessment Details
Part of this task was to provide 2 separate but
similarly branded social media posts. A questions
and answer carousel, and a government
announcement post that encourages people to
download the BC Foundry App.
Outcome
Clean, readable, BC Public Service branded post
that can be used across different devices,
including mobile (social media and web) as well
as could be printed.

Role - Marketing Designer
My goal on this project was to re-imagine the world
through the lens of an educator in tech and develop
a clean, modern, simple but captivating landing
page that would encourage the audience to desire
using AR/VR technology in studying.

Took the client through discovery and ideation,
conducted brand research, paper sketching, and I
developed the design from concept to finish.

Process
Conducted niche research.
Curated copy, and performed QA testing.
The client provided a library of images that I
sorted out and implemented on the design,
taking it from concept to publish on Unbounce.
Outcome
Happy client and satisfied client.
Delivered a clean, simple mobile friendly,
responsive click through landing page to drive
traffic to Moon Raven's eCommerce site.

eCOMMERCE MARKETING
Process
My role here was to perform product shots
and prepare quality images to be used on the
stores on-online shop. This required me to
design a small light-box studio in the physical
location, where I performed the photo shots,
and later on processed the images in Canva
before uploading on Square.
Outcome
Increased their on-line sales on antiques,
jewelry and small unique items. I established a
solid workflow for producing quality product
shots for the on-line sore.
18. Pink Shirt Day
Car decal design for the 2021 Pink Shirt Day
ROLE - Communication & Design Coordinator
Reporting to the transition manager, I was in
charge of delivering a package of various
branded assets and content for the WITS
Restart- 2.0 project.
This included the Pink Shirt Day car decal
design. I handled all the design elements of the
car decal including cost of production
negotiations with local vendor.

19. Process
Ideation and Iteration.
Designed the branded assets, including WITSup
avatar, ensured accurate placement of elements,
and packaged final files for print.
I coordinated the production of the final car decal
through 'Better Print' a local service provider.
Outcome
Delivered branded materials for the successful
launch of the
2021 Pink Shirt Day event. In a duration of a
week, I took the car decal design from concept to
approval and print.

animation of a jet flying through the screen
when a user lands on the Jetlab website(in
beta). I handled all the design aspects of this

scrolled Homepage that include animated
graphics, as well as animated logo. The
target audience being dental technicians.

Using some jet references, I created a mood-
board and developed the idea to fruition on
Illustrator. I created different layers of the jet in
order for easy application of effects on After
effects.
I used key frame process to animate the jet, and
used particle system to create procedural
realistic animated clouds.

33. James has volunteered and worked with the Victoria Hand Project since February, 2019.
During this time, James has worked on various tasks such as graphic design, instruction
manual creation, video editing, photogrammetry, and even some CAD work. James
showed his strong work ethic on these projects, and would always have a creative take
on the tasks at-hand. James also helped the Victoria Hand Project expand our operations
to Kenya. He communicated with the partners in Kenya leading up to the project to help
find potential patients, and assemble a team that we could work with. James and I
traveled to Kenya in February, 2020, where we conducted end-to-end training on how to
manufacture 3D printed prosthetic arms. He was a huge help during training. James is a
pleasure to have on the team!
