32. How to Avoid #1 50% your content, 50% others 80% free content that is useful and helpful 20% targeted promotion – thinks your fans are interested in Only invite people who would actually be a good fit Be generous and quick to help
33. #2: Using a Personal Profile instead of a business Page Even worse: Using a personal Profile, but giving it a business name instead of real name This is not professional May be a turnoff to some people Can be annoying to your friends and family who don’t want to hear about your business all the time Profile cannot be customized and does not have as many features as a Page
34. How to Avoid #2 Migrate your Profile to a Page Start a new Page Move ALL your business stuff over to the Page Read and follow Facebook’s terms of service
35. #3: Not Posting Regularly & Consistently Last post was weeks or months ago Only post once every few days, weeks or even months No engagement or interaction with fans Sporadic – bursts of activity followed by quiet periods
36. How to Avoid #3 Use the tips earlier to plan your updates ahead of time Schedule time every day to update your Facebook Page and plan updates for future days If scheduling your updates ahead, check in once a day to make sure the updates are posting properly Add on-the-fly updates as you go to add even more content Post at least once a day
