2. STRUCTURE

When you give directions, you give instructions to
go to a place.

The structure for instructions is the IMPERATIVE:
VERB + COMPLEMENT
EXAMPLE: Cross

3. DIRECTIONS
In most directions, the complement starts with
a preposition or an adverb of place:
Go along the path
Go into the building

Go over the bridge
