Skillet.io is a proposed website that would allow students to collaborate across disciplines by connecting people with complementary skills to work on projects. It would address issues with existing skills swap groups by providing an easily searchable index of student profiles categorized by discipline. The minimum viable product would allow students to search for and contact others for development, business, or design projects. A survey found most students want more opportunities to use their skills and would not mind sponsored events. The business model would generate revenue from recruiters accessing student skills data and companies advertising sponsored projects.
