1. Eagle Road Options
The following sketches illustrate two options for sidewalk development discussed during the recent
Eagle Rd. planning meeting. They are by no means complete, but are intended to give a general
sense of how the commercial corridor could be impacted. Each sketch shows walking area, trees,
and people. Both options have minimal impact on parking counts. Much is left open to further design,
including the effect of closing off certain streets or creating municipal parking areas.
Options 1A thru C show the new walking area up against the commercial buildings. This option
provides the most pedestrian safety from vehicular traffic and parking. It also allows for window
shopping, pocket seating areas, outdoor dining, and cross selling.
Options 2A thru C show the new walking area slightly inboard of its current location. It addresses the
difficulty of navigating the multiple curb cuts along this commercial corridor. Aesthetic improvements
are made along the walkway, but not carried through to business front doors.
