Other effects for exaggeration:
•Cannon, use your teammate as a cannon,
throw air bullets to defeat your opponents.
•Skateboard, step on your teammate as a
skateboard, then you can speed up like a
rocket.
•Giant, become a giant and destroy all other
opponents in the scene.

•Drama Dash is designed for almost
all kind of players. The art design of
paper box would remind most of us
the wonderful memory of childhood.
It is a relaxing game especially for
family get-together or online battle.

26. Our Purpose
•The purpose is to design a game created by
player their own hands. Immerse player to
be a Dreamer as Dare 2009 has two
components: DREAM and DO.
•Though the theory of Game 3.0 is huge. We
try to focus it on the PC demo as a
breakthrough point.
•Dare to be Digital is a perfect platform for all
talented students like us. Hope we could
show our thoughts to the world one day.

大家好 我们是来自北京大学软件与微电子学院的 SD square 小组。很荣幸有机会站在这个舞台上为大家介绍我们这次的参赛作品, drama dash.
2007 年 GDC 诞生了 game 3.0 的理念,即在玩耍的同时,将创造融入游戏当中。 Game 3.0 的游戏提供一个平台,让玩家自己创建一个游戏的世界,设定其规则,并在这个平台上与其他玩家分享。 于是我们见证了诸如《小小大星球》《孢子》等一系列优秀游戏的繁荣,并开始从开发者的角度重新思考游戏所能带给玩家的除玩耍之外的意义,即创造和分享的快感。
Drama dash 便是我们根据自己对 GAME3.0 思想的理解所设定的一款游戏。故事发生在一个有纸板和纸箱组成的剧院内,里面有一群小观众,我们则需要控制我们的游戏人物去上演不同的剧本,历史剧,悲剧或者是喜剧,去满足观众的需求。 下面请欣赏一下 drama dash 的视频。
美术部分采用了纸板风格的设计 , 在保持游戏人物的简单和有趣的同时 , 又使更换贴图比较容易实现 , 这样我们就可以把同样的模型放在不同故事脚本里 . We use paper texture to design the whole game, everything inside is a box made from paper, we want to keep the style simple and interesting, and this will make it easier to change texture, so we can tell different story with the same 3d model.
场景的制作目前还没有完全纸板化 , 我们会用纸板来搭建不同的建筑风格 , 配合不同背景的故事让玩家选择 . We haven’t change everything in this video to pure paper texture, what we want is to use paper brick to build different scenery, just like LEGO, and players will have different background of story to build an unique world.
丰富的地板系统 , 我们绘制不同的纸板贴图来让玩家选择 , 建造独特的剧院场景 , 当然也会提供玩家默认的地图以供选择 . Here is an example how floor and trees bricks work, but we still need time to change them to act more like paper boxes, players will have enough bricks to build their world, and make the drama show great. Of course default scenery will be offered too.
为了制造热闹的剧场效果 , 我们设计了不同的道具系统 , 例如 : 王子家祖传的马桶揣和马桶圈 , 公主的蛋糕等等 . In order to make a joyful show, we added some tools like prince’s special sword and shield, princess’s poisoning cake.
为了提高游戏的可玩性 , 设计了把同伴做为道具的系统 , 目前还没在视频里表现出来 , 有程序部分的简单演示 . And we also added something to act with team in the drama, these haven’t been given in the video but we did some coding work as you can see later.
制造剧场气氛的道具系统 , 不同于简单的使用现成的道具 , 把自己的同伴作为空气炮 , 或者做为滑板 , 或者成为一个超杀的巨人 , 来赢得观众的好感 . Not like normal game, player pick tools to use directly , Drama Dash is designed to use your team members as cannon, or skateboard, or a giant, all these is to win the judges satisfaction.

DEMO 版本的视频介绍 , 目前只有一个故事的脚本 . Pictures of demo video, and we have one story background now.
预计加入的故事脚本 , 我们在第一阶段的开发中预计加入三个故事的背景 , 代表不同的文化和艺术风格 . 第一个故事来自中国的传统戏剧 . If we had chance to do more development, we want to give three stories at the first milestone, to show different style with paper box. The first story is about Chinese drama. 第二个脚本来自童话故事 The second one from children’s fairytale. 第三个脚本来自文学名著 The third one is from famous literary,Don Quixote maybe.
这是我们后期做商业开发的一些想法 , 做成一些有趣的周边 , 提高玩家的参与度 . Something fun, players will be happy to share paper toys with friends, maybe we can do some commercial development if we had chance.
