In 2012, Joe and Jackie presented “Documenting Business Processes Online Using One
Tool” that inspired their audience to view project documentation in a different light. This
year, they will continue the discussion by sharing more information about how Structured
Business Process Modeling helps business analysts, developers, and QA testers to see
the requirements in a graphical form. Structured Business Process Modeling requires an
attention to detail to show not only the “happy path” of a requirement, but to identify the
many decision paths that a customer may encounter when accessing a website or using
a specific digital media device.
In this presentation, they will cover the different modeling approaches and the business
process level architecture pyramid, show an example of each level of the pyramid; cover
the common notation used in two standards-based modeling methods: EPC (Event-driven
Process Chain) and BPMN (Business Process Management Notation); and conclude by
sharing where to gain more information in the world of business process management.

9. 2013 Survey on Content Collaboration
Overcoming the
challenges
surrounding content
collaboration is
central to an
effective content
strategy and content
management
implementation
project.
35. CMT Example
• Different types of Actors shown: Customers & Project Team
• Content objects connect each process
• Decomposition shown for an object, a process & an actor
In complex models, different views can be
used to show only objects (state transition),
Actors (responsibility matrix), or processes
(business process model)
36. CMT Example (Continue)
• Composition and Inheritance can be used to describe
complex content models such as DITA Specializations
• Inheritance can be used to model Is-As relationship models
(Taxonomies)
• These are critically important in modelling content
management environments
