2. If you haven’t got as many visitors to your vlog as
you hoped, or haven’t actually started vlogging yet
we have gathered some tips that might help you on
your way…
3. When you record a video – look straight into the
camera
This helps you connect with your audience, and they feel you
are talking directly to them.
4. Editing
Editing your videos helps create some variety, and keeps your
audience interested.
You don’t need a lot of editing skills. Remember that often
less is more.
5. You can move around, not the camera!
Your audience might find it confusing and messy if the angle
of the camera keeps changing. So always keep the camera
steady in one place, while you are open to move around and
change positions.
6. Write a script
If you’re not sure what to say, and find yourself deleting what
you just recorded, it might be useful to write down what you
want to talk about. That way there will be a pleasant flow in
your dialogue, and you don’t have to record the same part
over and over again.
7. Ask questions
During or in the end of your video, ask questions and invite
your viewers to answer in the comment section. By doing so,
you engage your viewers and encourage further discussion.
Maybe someone makes an interesting point you want to
discuss in your next video?
8. Comments
If someone has taken the time to write you a comment, you
should take the time to answer. Most people like to share their
opinion, especially online where they can do it anonymously.
Let them know you see and appreciate their comments. If
they’re appropriate and sensible, of course. Don’t waste your
time on spammers or idiots.
9. Make your own logo/intro
If you have the time and/or skills, or know someone who does,
create a short intro or logo to include in the beginning of all of
your videos. By utilizing your own logo/intro, it will help
connect all of your work together, and you are able to establish
yourself as a brand.
10. If you’re using other social media platforms in
addition to YouTube, e.g. Twitter, Facebook,
Google+, you can incorporate your logo there as
well, which will create a nice flow throughout all of
the platforms, connect everything together and
help you establish yourself. The use of additional
social media platforms are beneficial for you since
you get a greater online presence, and can connect
with a larger group of potential viewers
