3. Research
• The research I conducted gave me a variety of ideas about website layout
and magazine and poster designs that will attract a lot of attention to my
target audience.
• I also did research on what my audience would like by conducting a survey
and emailing multiple people to obtain enough answers to get a valid
result. This helped me create a product based on what people wanted to
see and were interested in.
• I think I could have made my survey more appropriate to magazines and
websites instead of just 1 topic. I could have also spent more time
researching existing products.
4. Planning
• The best thing about my planning was that I got to see what the design
would look like and if I didn’t like it that way, I could make a new plan and
change things around until I found the right one.
• Another good thing about planning is that if you don’t like something such
as a poster or magazine, its not too late to explore new ideas such as
merchandise and websites
• I think that if I had more time to do planning I would have done a lot more
experiments on different structures and ways to create my products
• I could/should have spent more time planning out my website to make it
more realistic.
5. Time Management
• I think I managed my time well in this project because I actually handed
everything in on time. Each week or 2 weeks I handed in a new completed
PowerPoint instead of just a semi completed version.
• The last couple of weeks have been a little bit slower but I am still trying
my best to get everything done in time for the deadline I’ve been given.
• If I had more time I would have made a lot of changes to the website now
that I have feedback on what looked good and what I could do better. In 2
out of 3 of the feedback slides, the audience talked about moving forward
with the shop now page such as adding images and costs. I was also given
a suggestion of adding a list of suggested places to travel and the costs of
accommodation while there. This is something that I really wanted to do
but unfortunately did not have enough time to do it.
6. Aesthetic Qualities
Although there is not a lot on the page I think my
website does look good. It was creative from my
point of view because I have never really thought of
anything to do with diving as the main topic. I think
that the magazine front cover and double page
spread looks realistic enough to pass as an actual
magazine.
If I had the time to improve my work, I would make
sure the website was fully completed and all of the
links on the page worked properly and took you to
where it said it would.
7. Audience Appeal
I believe I have appealed to my target audience
because I took into consideration what my audience
wanted through the answers obtained through my
survey. I then went online to see how diving
magazine looked like to get a rough idea of how I
should plan my layout design. The list of locations of
dive sites and generally beautiful destinations will
be the main appeal to the audience in my point of
view because people may want to look for a nice
holiday as well as an activity that really makes it
worth your time.
The front cover of my magazine will appeal to the
audience
9. Feedback 1 WEBSITE
• What did you like about the product?
– I like the colours you have used for the website. Such as
different blues which goes in with the topic.
– The fonts goes well, it is very readable.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
– I think you should have done another page for the ‘get in
touch’ link. You have it at the bottom but it would make
sense if when you clicked on it, it would move to the
bottom. There should be actual images on the ‘shop now’
page. Also, I think you should use your own images.
10. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
The colour scheme relates to the project genre. Also, I like the basic aspects
because it makes clear the websites purpose is to inform.
I do like the information at the bottom with the map. This clearly shows the
audience where to locate the company. Also, the get in contact aspects is clear
which doesn’t make the audience feel as if they have to search through the
whole page to find ways of contacting you.
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
I feel like the font could be more interesting so that it entertains and excites the
audience rather then informs them. I also feel like the lay out of the website could be
improved. This is because the audience has to search the site to understand what
you’re displaying and advertising.
It would also be good if you included some original photographs or at least edited the
ones from the internet. This would add more interest to the overall site.
I also feel like you need to be clearer with your information about what you do as it
shows confusion. This could confuse the audience which leads for them not to go with
the company.
11. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
I think that the website design is good with the colours matching the theme. I like how
professional the website looks, especially with font sizes and colours. The get in touch part of the
website is pretty awesome and it looks like something I’d see on a professional website.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
I would’ve like to have been able to navigate the website more by clicking on the link which to my
disappointment opened nothing. I think that you could improve this by adding some of your own
merchandise into the shop and include some of your own photography. There's also not a lot of
information about the cost and experiences. It would be nice for you to change the address from
the default.
12. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
– I agree that I needed to add some items in the shop
section and that taking more of my own photos.
– I also agree that navigating through the website could be a
lot easier and the hyperlinks that are on the page don’t
actually work due to a technical issue.
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
• A lot of the images on the website were actually mine,
I took some of them myself.
• Other than that, I don’t disagree with any of the
feedback given because it is all useful in making my
product better and more appealing.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
The feedback I was given was mainly saying that I should
use my own images which I already did. There were only 3
or 4 images that I didn’t take myself.
I would however work on fixing the problem with the link
button on the website as when you pressed it, it didn’t load
anything. I think that I could make a lot more improvements
to show my website and magazine better and more
realistic. If I had more time I would work on my magazine
front cover to add a few more features.
Other than that I am happy with what I have produced and
had good fun creating it.
