1. Narrative
As the genre is film Noir it will involve some sort of crime, most likely murder due to it
being a key convention of Film Noir.
There could be a chain of murders all based on women, a flashback could be used in the
scene to show the thoughts of a detective and his pain due to him not being able to save
these women by catching the criminal.
There could be some sort of femme fatal in the scene, considering most Film Noir is based
around a female temptress.
Setting
Filming done in a graveyard overlooking the sea, this will set the scene of the opening
sequence.
Possible rain in the scene.
Alleyway used for flashback moment.
Costumes/Props
Dark costumes could be used to show the theme of remorse/regret due to the graveyard
setting.
A few props could be used like flowers for a gravestone and a gun for the flashback murder.
For the flashback murder we could use an alleyway so we can get good lighting from
torches or maybe a car’s headlights.
Themes
Theme around regrets based on maybe not being able to save some of the women being
killed recently.
Sound
Jazz track playing non-diageticly in the background.
Gun shot during flashback.
Filming Dates
Can film during March mainly during college lessons.
Afternoons are a better time to film, as we need a darker setting.
Outside of college, only specific days can be used to film due to a group member living out
of town.
