Dr. James McInnis spent nine years as a Lieutenant (N) in the Canadian Armed Forces and continues his involvement as an active Class B reservist for the Royal Canadian Navy. His military career included roles as a medical officer providing care to soldiers locally and on deployment, a member of the Disaster Assistance Response Team (D.A.R.T.) during Operation PLATEAU, a consultant in bio-terrorism medicine, a special consultant and liaison between the Canadian Forces and the Canadian Medical Association, and as a clinical instructor and liaison officer for the Canadian Armed Forces Physician Assistant Program.
