2. Who are we? ROMANIA is represented in the intangible cultural heritage of humanity UNESCO by two creations that are specific to our culture: the RITUAL OF CALUSUL, since 2005, and since September 2009 , DOINA.
3. CĂLUȘARII CĂLUȘUL is a complex and dramatic custom, deriving from an ancient rite practiced only by young men on Pentecost Celebration Day. At the beginning, it had a magical and ritual significance (the role of healing diseases, of initiation and fertility). Nowadays this ritual connotation has been lost. It only remained a dance of high virtuosity and impressive to the eyes of the viewers.
4. DOINA DOINA is a syncretic creation of lyrical nature and of a great peculiarity being defined as an „inner cry of the Romanian peasant” as it is sung in a very individual and personal tone, only for oneself’s heart. It is an intimate confession of one’s soul.
11. TRADITIONAL OBJECTS FROM THE MOLDAVIAN HOUSE : carpets/rugs, round table and chair, distaff for spinning, pitcher, bowl, pipe and sweet basil, there are always present in the Romanian peasant home/house.

13. The three fundamental moments of life : birth, marriage, death are celebrated by the Romanian people – a Christian nation – with bread and wine as symbols for the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. In our folk traditions, the Christian celebrations during the year are celebrated through distinct and particular songs, rituals and objects usually crafted by hand. Cradle for babies and other object used on the baptized ceremony: icon, cross, knot-shaped bread, pitcher with vine etc.
