Solution Description
The number of electric vehicles on offer is steadily increasing worldwide. As a consequence of this growing number of new
models and platforms, engineering work involved for the vehicles’ high-voltage system components is on the increase too.
This is where Bosch Engineering comes in: with its new high-voltage lab rig (HVLR), the company now offers a fast, efficient
and, above all, safe solution for testing the electric vehicle power electronics in the development lab. The system integrates a
high-voltage power supply and electronic safety functions for the circuit of the component under test in a portable compact
control cabinet. Thanks to its modular design, the test system can be flexibly adapted to individual customer requirements.
For example, different voltage levels of up to 1200 volts as well as different communication interfaces and an optionally
integrable dummy load can be selected. Subsequent upgrading, for example to higher output voltages of up to 1500 volts, is
possible as well. The system is conveniently operated via a touch-screen display. The monitor also provides a clear-cut
overview of all operating parameters such as status messages, information on system settings, and any error warnings.

Honeywell Launches Battery Energy Storage System Platform to Help
Users Forecast and Optimize Energy Costs
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
12
Solution Description
Honeywell announced its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Platform, which integrates Honeywell asset monitoring, distributed
energy resource management, supervisory control and analytics functionality to enable organizations to accurately forecast and optimize
their overall energy use. Honeywell's BESS Platform leverages best practices for energy management such as energy arbitrage and
demand management to deliver flexibility and control of when energy is purchased and used. The platform is ideal for a wide range of
commercial and industrial companies, independent power producers and utilities. The BESS Platform is backed by Honeywell
performance-based guarantees, which include predictable and consistent costs along with improved uptime. Honeywell's BESS Platform
improves grid stability and sustainability while decreasing supply costs. If a generator fails or goes offline for any reason, the platform
reduces the need to bring additional, non-renewable power generators online. In this scenario, a remote facility can maintain operations
as the platform runs in parallel with traditional generators. The system can then restart the disconnected generator or initiate back-up
generator sets before returning to standby mode. In addition, the BESS Platform can reduce the need for non-renewable power sources
such as gas turbines and diesel generators and their associated high gas consumption rates, contributing to a smaller carbon footprint.

24
GE Renewable Energy’s Grid Solutions business announced it has recently been awarded multiple orders to supply 765 kV transformers and
reactors in India. The contracts have been awarded by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), India’s largest state-owned transmission
company. As part of the order, GE will provide 13 units of 765 kV transformers and 32 numbers of 765 kV reactors. GE’s transformers and reactors
will be installed in the new substations that will be set up in the Indian state of Rajasthan by PGCIL, to evacuate 8.1 gigawatts (GW) of power from
the state’s solar energy zones under Phase-II of the Transmission System for evacuation of power from solar energy zones in Rajasthan project.
This includes the evacuation of energy from four solar energy zones within Rajasthan for onward dispersal of power to various beneficiaries - 1.05
gigawatts (GW) from Bhadla, 2.2 gigawatts (GW) from Fatehgarh, 1.9 gigawatts (GW) from Ramgarh and 2.95 gigawatts (GW) from Bikaner.
Rajasthan, located in northern India, receives maximum solar radiation intensity with very low average rainfall. It also has an abundance of desert
and uncultivated lands, making it the ideal place for solar energy generation. Due to these geographical and environmental advantages, Rajasthan
is emerging as a leader in renewable energy generation among the Indian states. India’s government has set a target for establishing 175 gigawatts
(GW) renewable capacity by 2022, which includes 100 gigawatts (GW) from solar and 60 gigawatts (GW) from wind. This includes the solar
generation potential of about 20 gigawatts (GW) in Rajasthan.

Kongsberg Supplies Integrated Propulsion, Electro and Automation
Package for Eco-Friendly Bulk Carrier
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

Kongsberg Maritime (KM) has been commissioned to deliver comprehensive, integrated equipment and systems package for an ambitious and
environmentally-responsible new bulk carrier project. The gas-powered ship – which can be fuelled using either zero CO2 emission LBG (Liquefied Biogas) or
conventional LNG – is being built for the Norwegian short sea shipping company Seaworks, utilising a design which originated with Norway’s leading vessel
architects, Polarkonsult. Having been impressed with KONGSBERG’s products, services and support on previous commercial marine projects, Polarkonsult
approached KM with a view to supplying a propulsion system and LNG engine for the new bulk carrier. During the consultation, KM proposed an integrated
solution which would enhance operational efficiency and prove far more cost-effective than separate systems, and this is the approach which has been agreed upon.
KM’s scope of delivery for the newbuild bulk carrier is extensive. The mechanical aspects of the integrated solution encompass steering and reduction gear, bow
and stern thrusters, the rudder, a controllable pitch propeller system and a Bergen gas main engine. On the electrical and digital side, the delivery includes energy
and power management systems, an energy storage unit, an electro package and a K-Chief marine automation system for monitoring and control of all key vessel
functions. The bulk carrier is now being constructed in Wuhu, China after a careful tendering process saw 15 shipyards throughout Europe and China bidding for
the contract. Pandemic restrictions unavoidably slowed down the contract negotiations, resulting in a few months’ delay to the original schedule. Nevertheless, all
parties concerned have shown unflagging determination to see the project through, and construction is now back on track.

Honeywell and Cambridge Quantum Reach New Milestones
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

Honeywell and Cambridge Quantum announced three scientific and technical milestones that demonstrate the viability of large-scale quantum
computing and show that quantum-enabled solutions for optimization are closer than expected. For the first time, researchers at Honeywell
Quantum Solutions demonstrated repeated rounds of real-time quantum error correction (QEC), an advancement that represents a significant step
toward the realization of large-scale quantum computing. The company also achieved a quantum volume of 1,024, doubling its own record from
just four months ago. Beyond the hardware milestones, Cambridge Quantum also has developed a new quantum algorithm that uses fewer qubits
to solve optimization problems. Honeywell researchers addressed quantum error correction by creating a single logical qubit from seven of the 10
physical qubits available on Honeywell System H1 Model and applying multiple rounds of QEC. Protected from the main types of errors that occur
in a quantum computer, Honeywell's logical qubit combats errors that accumulate during computations. Honeywell and Cambridge Quantum
announced in June they are combining to form the world's largest, stand-alone quantum computing company. Closing of the combination
transaction remains subject to regulatory review and customary closing conditions. The two companies have long worked together to develop
quantum-enabled solutions to address optimization, scheduling, and other enterprise-level challenges. Since first announcing its commercial
quantum computers in March 2020, Honeywell has continuously exceeded its own milestones.

Honeywell and Premier Inc. a leading technology-driven healthcare improvement company, announced a new commercial relationship dedicated to expanding the
domestic production of nitrile exam gloves. This new collaboration is expected to produce at least 750 million domestically made nitrile exam gloves in the first
year alone. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the supply of exam gloves has been constrained as global demand skyrocketed – exceeding production
capacity by nearly 40 percent. Global raw material scarcity, port closures and delays, and increased glove usage as a result of increased hospitalization rates and
vaccination efforts have exacerbated ongoing shortages. As a result, Premier member hospitals reported access to exam gloves as one of their greatest
product-related challenges to care for patients, with many implementing glove conservation practices and other precautionary measures to protect supply. The
collaboration between Premier and Honeywell is expected to expand access to domestically manufactured exam gloves for U.S. hospitals, clinics and other
healthcare providers. More than 80 participating Premier member health systems have committed to purchase a certain percentage of the Honeywell gloves for a

Honeywell announced it will partner with Trane Technologies to accelerate the transition to a next-generation, environmentally preferable refrigerant
by field testing Honeywell's Solstice® N41 (R-466A), the industry's first nonflammable alternative to R-410A. Trane will deploy and test Solstice N41
at three customer locations in different parts of the United States as part of a one-year field trial. Trane is currently testing Solstice N41 at the Western
Cooling Efficiency Center (WCEC) at the University of California, Davis, to evaluate its performance with a Trane rooftop HVAC unit used in light
commercial applications. The trials will test compatibility with new equipment installations and retrofit conversions. Trane will closely monitor power
and energy consumption and analyze the refrigerant characteristics to further assess Solstice N41 as a replacement for R-410A. Solstice N41 provides
the same level of safety to contractors and customers as the market standard refrigerant, R-410A, and reduces global warming impact by 65 percent.
Other alternatives proposed as R-410A replacements, such as R-32 and R-454B, are higher risk due to their 2L (low flammability) rating, which could
increase risk to businesses and homeowners and require changes to safety standards and building codes and OEM equipment production lines. To date,
Solstice N41 has undergone extensive analysis by over 15 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and leading compressor manufacturers. The
product has accumulated more than 100,000 reliable hours in different applications like commercial air conditioning (variable refrigerant flow,
rooftops) and residential air conditioning (unitary ducted equipment in the U.S.).

NVIDIA and King’s College London unveiled new details about one of the first projects on Cambridge-1, the United Kingdom’s most
powerful supercomputer. King’s College London is using Cambridge-1 to build AI models that are able to generate synthetic brain
images by learning from tens of thousands of MRI brain scans taken of patients of various ages and with a variety of diseases. This
groundbreaking work will enable scientists to differentiate healthy brains from those that are diseased — giving them a more nuanced
understanding of what diseases look like and possibly enabling earlier and more accurate diagnoses. The use of synthetic data has the
additional benefit that it can ensure patient privacy since the images were AI generated. This also allows King’s to open the research
to the broader U.K. healthcare community. The AI model was developed by King’s and NVIDIA data scientists and engineers. It is
one of several projects taking place on Cambridge-1. Other leading U.K. healthcare institutions planned digital biology projects
include drug design and genome sequencing. Cambridge-1 is the U.K.’s most powerful supercomputer, with 80 NVIDIA DGX™
A100 systems integrating NVIDIA A100 GPUs, BlueField®-2 DPUs and NVIDIA HDR InfiniBand networking. King’s College
London intends to share its synthetic data model with the greater research and startup community.

NVIDIA and Palo Alto Networks Boost Cyber Defenses with DPU Acceleration

Cybercrime cost the American public more than $4 billion in reported losses over the course of 2020, according to the FBI. To stay ahead of
emerging threats, Palo Alto Networks, a global cybersecurity leader, has developed the first virtual next-generation firewall (NGFW) designed to
be accelerated by NVIDIA’s BlueField data processing unit (DPU). The DPU accelerates packet filtering and forwarding by offloading traffic from
the host processor to dedicated hardware that is separate from the server CPU. The solution delivers the intrusion prevention and advanced security
capabilities of Palo Alto Networks’ virtual NGFWs to every server without sacrificing network performance. It also allows network flows that
were previously impossible or impractical to inspect by intelligently screening the relevant parts of the flow and offloading the rest to the DPU.
This hardware-accelerated software NGFW is a milestone in boosting software firewall performance and maximizing data center security coverage
and efficiency by being first to market to be accelerated by a DPU. The recently announced DPU-enabled Palo Alto Networks VM-Series NGFW
uses zero trust network security principles. The DPU operates as an intelligent network filter to parse, classify and steer traffic flows with zero
ReCPU overhead, which enables the NGFW to support close to 100 GB/s throughput for typical use cases. This is a 5x performance boost versus
running the VM-Series firewall on a CPU alone — and up to 150 percent capex savings compared to legacy hardware.

NVIDIA and Volvo Cars Detail Software-Defined Future of Safe Transportation
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

Volvo Cars’ Tech Moment event NVIDIA vice president and general manager of Automotive, joined executives from Volvo Cars to outline the
centralized compute architecture that will power these software-defined vehicles. This architecture, built on NVIDIA DRIVE Orin, is what Volvo
Cars is using for its next generation fleet. With a software-defined architecture, cars will no longer be at their best when they leave the factory, but
rather constantly improving through over-the-air updates. This flexibility will even allow automakers to develop vehicles and experiences that are
customizable for each customer. Volvo Cars is rebuilding its vehicle compute architecture from the ground up to support this software-defined
vision. Cars on the road are powered by tens of electronic control units (ECUs) distributed throughout the vehicle. Each ECU controls a specific
function such as power windows or the infotainment system. This structure requires long development cycles and can be incredibly complicated
to update as new technology emerges. The core computing system, which will be introduced on a model to be unveiled in 2022, is made up of three
main computers. These support each other in operating vision processing and artificial intelligence, general computing and infotainment
respectively. With NVIDIA DRIVE Orin at the core of Volvo Cars’ vehicles, the aim is to continue be safer and more personal over time via
over-the-air updates, while maintaining enough compute headroom to power vision and sensor processing.

NVIDIA announced that it is partnering with Google Cloud to establish the industry’s first AI-on-5G Innovation Lab, enabling network infrastructure players
and AI software partners to develop, test and adopt solutions that will help accelerate the creation of smart cities, smart factories and other advanced 5G and
AI applications. The lab will provide enterprises with access to Google Cloud’s Anthos platform and NVIDIA accelerated computing hardware and software
platforms that let them harness data and AI to drive business performance, improve operational efficiency and optimize safety and reliability. The companies
will begin development in the second half of the year. NVIDIA announced in April it is teaming with Google Cloud, Fujitsu, Mavenir, Radisys and Wind
River to develop solutions for NVIDIA’s AI-on-5G platform. Google Cloud is extending the Anthos application platform to the network edge, allowing
telecommunications service providers and enterprises to rapidly deliver new services and applications at the 5G edge. Anthos offers a consistent platform for
application deployments, with a service-centric view of each environment. The platform enables customers to build and deploy enterprise-grade,
containerized applications faster with managed Kubernetes in the cloud, on premises and at the network edge. Anthos supports NVIDIA GPU-accelerated
servers, enabling a consistent deployment and operational experience across deployments, while reducing expensive overhead and improving developer
productivity. The platform also protects applications and software supply chains and provides an outcome-focused approach to managing policies for
applications across environments — a critical feature for network operators and enterprises delivering AI on 5G.

  • 10. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nib Solution Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Efficiently testing power electronics of e-vehicles For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 4 Solution Description The number of electric vehicles on offer is steadily increasing worldwide. As a consequence of this growing number of new models and platforms, engineering work involved for the vehicles’ high-voltage system components is on the increase too. This is where Bosch Engineering comes in: with its new high-voltage lab rig (HVLR), the company now offers a fast, efficient and, above all, safe solution for testing the electric vehicle power electronics in the development lab. The system integrates a high-voltage power supply and electronic safety functions for the circuit of the component under test in a portable compact control cabinet. Thanks to its modular design, the test system can be flexibly adapted to individual customer requirements. For example, different voltage levels of up to 1200 volts as well as different communication interfaces and an optionally integrable dummy load can be selected. Subsequent upgrading, for example to higher output voltages of up to 1500 volts, is possible as well. The system is conveniently operated via a touch-screen display. The monitor also provides a clear-cut overview of all operating parameters such as status messages, information on system settings, and any error warnings.

Customer Success Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Kongsberg Supplies Integrated Propulsion, Electro and Automation Package for Eco-Friendly Bulk Carrier For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 26 Kongsberg Maritime (KM) has been commissioned to deliver comprehensive, integrated equipment and systems package for an ambitious and environmentally-responsible new bulk carrier project. The gas-powered ship – which can be fuelled using either zero CO2 emission LBG (Liquefied Biogas) or conventional LNG – is being built for the Norwegian short sea shipping company Seaworks, utilising a design which originated with Norway’s leading vessel architects, Polarkonsult. Having been impressed with KONGSBERG’s products, services and support on previous commercial marine projects, Polarkonsult approached KM with a view to supplying a propulsion system and LNG engine for the new bulk carrier. During the consultation, KM proposed an integrated solution which would enhance operational efficiency and prove far more cost-effective than separate systems, and this is the approach which has been agreed upon. KM’s scope of delivery for the newbuild bulk carrier is extensive. The mechanical aspects of the integrated solution encompass steering and reduction gear, bow and stern thrusters, the rudder, a controllable pitch propeller system and a Bergen gas main engine. On the electrical and digital side, the delivery includes energy and power management systems, an energy storage unit, an electro package and a K-Chief marine automation system for monitoring and control of all key vessel functions. The bulk carrier is now being constructed in Wuhu, China after a careful tendering process saw 15 shipyards throughout Europe and China bidding for the contract. Pandemic restrictions unavoidably slowed down the contract negotiations, resulting in a few months’ delay to the original schedule. Nevertheless, all parties concerned have shown unflagging determination to see the project through, and construction is now back on track. Description

  • 53. Partner Ecosystem Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable NVIDIA and Palo Alto Networks Boost Cyber Defenses with DPU Acceleration For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 44 Cybercrime cost the American public more than $4 billion in reported losses over the course of 2020, according to the FBI. To stay ahead of emerging threats, Palo Alto Networks, a global cybersecurity leader, has developed the first virtual next-generation firewall (NGFW) designed to be accelerated by NVIDIA’s BlueField data processing unit (DPU). The DPU accelerates packet filtering and forwarding by offloading traffic from the host processor to dedicated hardware that is separate from the server CPU. The solution delivers the intrusion prevention and advanced security capabilities of Palo Alto Networks’ virtual NGFWs to every server without sacrificing network performance. It also allows network flows that were previously impossible or impractical to inspect by intelligently screening the relevant parts of the flow and offloading the rest to the DPU. This hardware-accelerated software NGFW is a milestone in boosting software firewall performance and maximizing data center security coverage and efficiency by being first to market to be accelerated by a DPU. The recently announced DPU-enabled Palo Alto Networks VM-Series NGFW uses zero trust network security principles. The DPU operates as an intelligent network filter to parse, classify and steer traffic flows with zero ReCPU overhead, which enables the NGFW to support close to 100 GB/s throughput for typical use cases. This is a 5x performance boost versus running the VM-Series firewall on a CPU alone — and up to 150 percent capex savings compared to legacy hardware. Description
