Broadcom Inc. (USA) Announces Fourth Quarter and Fiscal Year
2019 Financial Results
• Net revenue was $5,776 million, 4.7 percent higher than $5,515 million in the previous quarter and 6.1 percent higher than
$5,444 million in the same quarter last year.
• Gross margin was $3,152 million, or 54.6 percent of net revenue. This compares with gross margin of $3,034 million, or 55.0
percent of net revenue, in the prior quarter, and gross margin of $2,935 million, or 53.9 percent of net revenue, in the same
quarter last year.
• Operating expenses were $2,098 million. This compares with $2,169 million in the prior quarter and $1,283 million in the
same quarter last year.
• Operating income was $1,054 million, or 18.2 percent of net revenue. This compares with operating income of $865 million,
or 15.7 percent of net revenue, in the prior quarter, and operating income of $1,652 million, or 30.3 percent of net revenue, in
the same quarter last year
• Net income was $847 million, or $1.97 per diluted share. This compares with net income of $715 million, or $1.71 per diluted
share, in the prior quarter, and net income of $1,115 million, or $2.64 per diluted share, in the same quarter last year.
• Cash from operations was $2,479 million in the quarter. This compares with $2,419 million in the prior quarter and $2,635
million in the same quarter last year.
• The Company's cash and cash equivalents at the end of the fourth fiscal quarter were $5,055 million, compared to $5,462
million at the end of the prior quarter
• During the fourth fiscal quarter, the Company generated $2,479 million in cash from operations and spent $587 million on
share repurchases and eliminations, consisting of $433 million in repurchases of 1.5 million shares and $154 million of
withholding tax payments related to net settled equity awards that vested in the quarter (representing approximately 0.5 million
shares withheld), as well as $96 million on capital expenditures.
• On October 1, 2019, the Company paid a cash dividend of $2.65 per share of common stock, totaling $1,054 million

"Fiscal year 2019 concluded as expected. Our semiconductor solutions segment continued to work its way through a
cyclical correction. This was more than offset by our infrastructure software segment, which delivered healthy results
benefitting from the integration and performance of our CA business," said President and CEO of Broadcom Inc.
"Looking to fiscal 2020, we remain well-positioned across our technology franchises. We continue to believe that our
core semiconductor business is bottoming and will return to year over year growth in the second half of our fiscal year.
In addition, we expect to benefit from the integration of the Symantec Enterprise Security business into what is otherwise
expected to be a stable infrastructure software segment in fiscal 2020."

financing to Signature Capital. The loan will be used to finance the
acquisition of the “Arrow” office portfolio in Berlin and includes a
facility to refurbish the buildings. Both banks acted as Co-Arrangers
and provided equal shares of the loan. pbb acts as Facility and Security
Agent. The “Arrow” portfolio comprises four monumental properties
located in the heart of Berlin. They provide approximately 36,000 m²
of rental space which is predominately used as offices. Signature
Capital acquired the portfolio in August 2019. The business plan
foresees a comprehensive refurbishment of the properties and a
subsequent repositioning in the Berlin office market. pbb and
Commerzbank have a long-standing business relationship with
Signature Capital and have provided several financings in the past.

Fujifilm (Japan) to Acquire Hitachi’s Diagnostic Imaging-related
Business to Accelerate Growth of Its Healthcare Business
FUJIFILM Corporation announced that it has entered into an agreement with Hitachi, Ltd. to acquire Hitachi’s Diagnostic Imaging-related Business
to further expand its Healthcare business. Prior to the acquisition, Hitachi will establish a company and implement an absorption-type company split
whereby the New Company will absorb the Business. Under the share purchase agreement between Fujifilm and Hitachi signed today, Fujifilm will
acquire all the outstanding shares of the New Company from Hitachi. The completion of this acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions
and regulatory approvals. The purchase price is expected to be approximately JPY179bn. By applying its proprietary image processing and AI
technologies to Hitachi’s extensive product lineup, Fujifilm will further expand its Medical Systems business and create new values to contribute to
improve the quality of medical care. In addition, the company will provide new values and solutions to the global market by leveraging its strong
global sales network. Since its launch of X-ray system in 1953, Hitachi has been providing solutions using diagnostics imaging system, IT and
electronic health record to enhance the quality of care and efficiency. Its Diagnostic Imaging Systems business has a strong global presence, providing
a comprehensive suite of products including CT, MRI, X-ray, and ultrasound systems. The business not only serves as a stable revenue base, but also

Micron Technology, Inc. (USA) Reports Results for the First
Quarter of Fiscal 2020
• Revenues of $5.14 billion versus $4.87 billion for the prior quarter
and $7.91 billion for the same period last year
• GAAP net income of $491 million, or $0.43 per diluted share
• Non-GAAP net income of $548 million, or $0.48 per diluted share
• Operating cash flow of $2.01 billion versus $2.23 billion for the
prior quarter and $4.81 billion for the same period last year
• Investments in capital expenditures, net of amounts funded by
partners, were $1.93 billion for the first quarter of fiscal 2020, which
resulted in adjusted free cash flows of $79 million.
• Micron repurchased an aggregate of 1 million shares of its common
stock for $50 million during the first quarter of fiscal 2020 and ended
the quarter with cash, marketable investments, and restricted cash of
$8.31 billion, for a net cash position of $2.66 billion.
"Micron posted solid first quarter results, delivering good
profitability and positive free cash flow. With our strong execution

transients that generate noise, which either disrupts operations or requires extensive mitigation. The MAX22701E offers the industry’s highest common-mode transient immunity
(CMTI) of 300kV/µs typical to deliver industry-leading reliability. CMTI is up to 3x higher than the closest competitor, which results in increased system uptime. Best-in-class driver

with multiple outputs achieving functional safety[1] for automotive applications. The new IC is available in four versions, with
output voltages ranging from 1.1V to 1.5V. Mass production is scheduled to start this month. More and more safety-critical
automotive systems, such as electric power steering (EPS) and braking, are required to meet the requirements of ASIL-D[2], the
highest automotive safety integrity level prescribed in the ISO 26262 functional safety standards. The new IC integrates various
failure detection functions, such as high-voltage and low-voltage detection, overheat detection, and frequency monitoring of
power supply circuit, to monitor against the IC’s own failure, and a watchdog timer to monitor failure detection of the external
microcontroller. An initial diagnosis circuit to detect latent faults in the failure detection circuits is also incorporated to secure
higher functional safety. Toshiba has also carried out a range of functional safety analyses to simulate system failures and will
provide customers with documentation, such as functional safety FMEDA[3], to support overall safety analysis and design.

voltage resonance circuits in tabletop IH cookers, IH rice cookers, microwave ovens and other home appliances. Shipments
start. GT20N135SRA features a collector-emitter saturation voltage of 1.75V and a diode forward voltage of 1.8V,
approximately 10% and 21% lower, respectively, than for the current product. Both the IGBT and diode have improved
conduction loss characteristics at high temperature (TC=100℃), and the new IGBT can help reduce equipment power
consumption. It also features a junction-to-case thermal resistance of 0.48℃/W (max), about 26% lower than that of the
current product, allowing easier thermal design. The new IGBT suppresses short circuit current that flows through the
resonance capacitor when equipment is switched on. Its circuit current peak value is 129A, about a 31% reduction from the
current product[3]. As its safe operating area is widened, it makes equipment design easier compared to the current product.

makes lower noise compared to standard ship engines, and it starts generating power in one minute at the shortest. This time, Toshiba ESS can reduce the volume
per unit power output to 1/3 compared to the stationary fuel cell systems due to its simplified design and package improvement. In addition, the system complies
with the safety guidelines formulated by MLIT (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan). NREG TOSHIBA BUILDING Corporation and
TUMSAT, as part of a joint research project, have contributed to the realization of environmentally friendly hydrogen fuel cell ships and have begun demonstration
tests of a fuel cell ship, “Raicho N,” with Toshiba’s 3.5kW pure hydrogen fuel cell system as of October 2016. This time, a fuel cell ship, which is installed with a
larger 30kW pure hydrogen fuel cell system, will be featured in this validation experiment on the use of pure hydrogen fuel cell systems at sea, and will be followed

ZTE Corporation together achieved 5G-enabled Voice over New Radio call. The call was performed in compliance with 3GPP Release
15 specifications over the 2.5 GHz spectrum band (n41) by utilizing a ZTE’s 5G NR base station and a 5G smartphone form factor test
device powered by a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 5G Modem-RF System. Voice services are a fundamental offering for mobile operators,
and when performed using a 5G network, it is called Voice over New Radio (VoNR). The ability to complete VoNR calls will be an
important step in the global mobile industry’s evolution from non-standalone to standalone, as it will allow operators to deliver
high-quality voice service without having to rely on VoLTE (voice over LTE) or an LTE anchor. The 5G VoNR call is the latest in a line
of milestones completed by Qualcomm Technologies and ZTE in their ongoing collaboration to support the evolution of 5G. Previously,
collaboration between the two companies produced the world’s first end-to-end 5G NR Interoperability Data Testing (IoDT) system
demonstrating a data connection based on 3GPP R15 standard in November 2017 in China. Additionally, the companies completed a live
demonstration of 5G network services based on an end-to-end sub-6GHz commercial system in February 2019 in China. More recently,
Qualcomm Technologies and ZTE completed the first 5G mobile phone millimeter-wave interoperability test in the country.

ASUS (Taiwan) Honored for Sustainable Practices at the 2019 Global
Corporate Sustainability Awards

ASUS announced that the company has received two 2019 Global Corporate Sustainability Awards (GCSA), including a Professional Award recognizing Chairman
Jonney Shih's leadership in optimizing ASUS business-sustainability practices, and a Best Practice Award for sustainable procurement using scientific approach
