3. What is the pattern and structure
of Patent Agent Examination?
The examination is divided into three sections that include:
 Part I: 40 objective type questions of 1 mark each and
descriptive type questions of 60 marks
 Part II: This paper incorporates a set of 2 questions which is
meant specifically for aspirants from different streams (i.e. Science
& Engineering). This paper is of 30 marks each consists of:
o Drafting of specification from given background and claims
o Drafting of claims from given specifications along with
interpretative/ descriptive type questions of 40 marks
 Viva- voice: Based on domain knowledge

score criteria for the Exam?
