2. Selection Profile in SAP PM
Selection Profile is a combination of system defined and user defined status. It helps business to extract the data
based on Selection profile.
This is the same functionalities like as “Status inclusive and Status exclusive”
Language dependence of a selection profile:
If a selection profile has been created in a language then it can be used in all languages defined in the system. If
user statuses are defined in a selection profile then you should make sure that the user statuses are translated in
the corresponding status profile. If no translation exists then you must enter the user status
Example:
A selection profile is especially useful if you select a large number of objects repeatedly according to the same
selection conditions (for example, orders for printing shop papers, for collective release, or for creating order
valuations).

Now click on selection Conditions tab for maintaining different statues.
AND /OR Logic can be applied to make the combination of statuses.
1. Usr (User): – Select the user option if status is for user status.
2. Stats.prof: – This is optional field, update the user status profile.
3. Status: – Update the status from the drop down list, if status is a user status then select

3. “X” with status profile from drop down list.
4. Not: – Select this field if you want exclude the selected conditions in report.
5. State: – State indicates the selection profile is active.
Translate of selection profile to other Languages cab be done as shown below.

4. Case-1: If status profile is blank in the status selection schema that case system will not allow to add both system
and user defined status together. This case selection profile will contains either system defined statuses or user
defined.
Case-2: If status profile contains some value in the status selection schema that case system will allow to add
both system and user defined status together.
