The principled vocation of law inspires ardent talents due to

being a second-generation lawyer working in the courts,
looking at voluminous documents and spending long hours
in the library was not new to him. He reminisces, “Since the
formative years of my education, I was always inclined
towards the legal profession and court craft. My father, Mr.
Satyanarayan Sharma, is a reputed labour law practitioner
in Kolkata and has authored numerous books on the subject.
My elder brother, Mr. Anand Sharma, also a Senior Partner
at Sharma & Sharma Advocates and Legal Consultants,
further inspired me to take up the noble profession, which
has the potential to impact society positively.”
Sidhartha started his practice in the year 2001 and was
Chamber Junior of one of the foremost practitioners of
Hon’ble High Court, Calcutta, who was awarded as the

In his advice to the young genera-
tion trying to create change or

law, Sidhartha says that every individual who is a practicing
lawyer may have a very different prospective when it comes
to achieving success in this profession. “But I believe that
every experienced successful lawyer will agree that
perseverance, diligence, and hard work has no alternative
in this profession,” he feels, adding that often, such young
lawyers will have to burn the midnight oil, and many times
they may feel dejected. However, it is only at this moment
that their passion and determination will lead them in the
right direction.
Speaking about their future strategies and plans, Sidhartha
shares that growing in the field of law is what every lawyer
wants.

be achieved through team effort and productive output by

he most prominent aspect of the Indian Judiciary is

unbiased, and patient ways. The reason why it is
the best in the world is that it allows both parties to present
themselves equally and offers the right to defend
themselves. In the process of delivering justice, injustice
should not take place to anyone due to any
misunderstanding, half-hearted efforts, and or influence by
some people.
The law industry has developed steadily over the years, but
prominent developments have happened just recently in
these couple of decades. The court procedures which were
said to have been lengthy, time-consuming, and riddled
with uncertainty, are now a totally changed scenario. The
recent developments in the legal system have contributed to
the streamlining and simplifying of the process. The new
amendments in working during the COVID-19 pandemic
have brought about a big change in the working process of
the entire industry. Not relying on the procedures, the
lawyers have progressed ahead in a professional perspective
of adding more value to their services. Improved
communication, faster working procedures, systematic

updating of the case developments, close and integrated
working with the clients, courts, and government
departments have empowered the lawyers in becoming
efficient and highly result-oriented professionals.
Establishment of Fast Track Courts
The time taken by the courts towards clearing the cases has
been ascertained as the influencing factor therein. In order
to expedite the process, the judicial authorities have
developed separate courts that would be focusing on
handling and resolving the cases of serious matters
concerning heinous crimes and the underprivileged sections
of society. The setting up of Fast Track Courts (FTCs) and
their functioning lies within the domain of State
Governments in consultation with the respective High
Courts.
According to the official website of the Department of
Justice (DoJ), the 14th Finance Commission had
recommended the setting up of 1800 FTCs during 2015-20
dealing with cases of heinous crimes; civil cases related to
women, children, senior citizens, HIV/AIDS etc., and
property-related cases pending for more than five years. The
Commission also urged State Governments to utilize
enhanced fiscal space available through tax devolution
(32% to 42%) for this purpose. 848 FTCs are functional
across the country (December 2022). A total of more than
33 lakh pending cases have been disposed of by FTCs since
2014.
The Advent of the Outsourcing industry
The service industry grew rapidly that went on to develop
support for industry verticals like IT, Banking and finance,
Healthcare, Retail, Telecom, Real Estate, Insurance, Legal,
Travel and tourism, etc. The outsourcing industry in legal
specialization (Legal Process Outsourcing) LPO, was
developed in data collection, compilation, processing, and
