What …
does learning
a Language
say about me?
Tell me, please!
I am literate.

  I can read well in
another language as
    well as my own!
I can communicate
in another
language…
 ...and therefore I must
             be good at
   communicating in my
                   own…
I am confident
enough.
I do not worry if what
I say is not perfect! …
as long as I can get
   the message across!
I am able to
multi-task.

 I often have to think
   of several things at
        the same time!
I have highly
developed
listening skills.
 I can hear the detail
     in the words you
                 say!
I have to be
creative.

   I have to think of
  interesting things
   to say and write.
I perform well
under pressure.
   …everyone finds
   some parts a bit
         stressful!
I am open to new
experiences and
cultures.
I am not one of those
   people who thinks
that my way must be
       the right way.
I am brave.
…some people think
 languages are very
    hard and rather
            scary!!!
I have a good
memory.

 I have learned loads
    of words and how
        to spell them!
Yes, I am
culturally
aware.
   I know that life is
    different in other
  parts of the world!
Yes, I am
international.
 I want to discover
     the rest of the
           world!!!
I persevere.

  …some bits are
hard – but I stick
             at it!
Now that I know how
to learn foreign
languages, I could
use those skills to
learn more
languages!!!

...and that would give
  me double the skills!
I can think

 logically.
I am often able to
guess what words
mean because of the
context they are in.
I can see and
apply patterns.

…and the more I see
    them, the more
       obvious they
           become.
I can think on my
feet and express
myself verbally.
I will never be stuck
   with “um” and
                 “er”.
…I can solve
problems and think
   outside the box!
 I can always think
  of another way of
 doing or phrasing
         something.
