Create a “route matrix” for the network digram below.
Given the connectivity matrix below. Construct a directed network 
diagram.




 If the matrix above represents “bus route” connections. Find the 
 fewest number of buses you would need to take to get from A to 
 B. Show all matricies used in finding your answer.
To reduce traffic congestion a city planner proposed the conversion of 
some downtown streets to one­way streets. The new plan is below.

 (a) Construct a network matrix to represent the new plan.




 (b)Determine the number of ways a tourist could get from the Art 
 Gallery to the Tourist Centre and see exactly 3 sites along the way.
Three stores, A, B and C, were surveyed to determine costs of 
the same weight and brand of bread, flour and sugar. The 
amounts to be purchased and the prices charged are shown in 
the matricies below. If all three items are purchased at the same 
store, what is the lowest total price?




     (a) $11.40         (b) $11.58         (c) $17.74        (d) $18.00
A washing powder is sold in regular and large boxes. Market research 
shows that 40% of the buyers of the regular size switch to the large size for 
their next purchase, and 18% of the buyers of the large size switch to the 
regular size for their next purchase. The original market share was 70% for 
the regular size and 30% for the large size.
  (a) What is the market share for each size in the next round of 
  purchases? (Show the transition matrix used.) 




    (b) In the long term, what is the market share for each size of this 
    washing powder? 
I have two coins in a bag, a fair coin and a biased (double headed) coin. 
The fair coin is tossed first. If the result of the previous toss is a head, 
then the biased coin is tossed next. If the result of the previous toss is a 
tail, then the fair coin is tossed next. Use transition matrices to describe 
the sequence of likely outcomes. What happens if a different biased coin 
with both head and tail sides, but biased 60:40 in favour of tails is used 
instead?
