Case 1 - A leading retail bank planned its branch product 
mix using NSL 
Business Problem 
One of India's largest private sector banks 
was looking to increase its customer base 
across metros. 
They had their branch level CASA data, 
but wanted to know the universe of 
potential customers, so that they could 
decide the best product offerings across 
their branches. 
How Indicus Helped 
The client used the Neighbourhood Skyline for all 
the metro cities to identify the income pattern and 
the affluence levels at various micro markets across 
cities . 
This was a reference for them to plot their existing 
branch CASA data and understand their penetration 
and market share. 
They were then able to prioritize areas with low 
market penetration vis-avis the potential and 
suitably plan their product mix across their existing 
branches.
Case 2 - A leading apparel retail chain did catchment 
analysis for their stores using NSL 
Business Problem 
A leading clothing and footwear retail chain 
in India, with large retail footprint across 
metros, wanted a reliable means of 
estimating how each store performed 
relative to its potential. 
In addition they also wanted to identify 
gaps in the cities where they could setup 
new stores. 
How Indicus Helped 
Neighbourhood Skyline gave the client a means 
for scientifically assessing the market potential by 
identifying the number of households in their TG 
(SEC * Income) within the specific catchment areas 
of their stores and get details on their spending 
across categories. 
They merged this with their internal sales data to 
come up with an assessment of performance of 
stores vis-a-vis the potential and fine tune the local 
marketing efforts. They were also able to identify 
additional micro-markets with high concentration of 
their TG and assess new locations to setup stores.
