PLASTIC ARTS, CONCEPTUAL
ART, PERFORMANCE…
The visual arts are art forms such as ceramics,
drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking,
design, crafts, photography, video, filmmaking,
literature, and architecture.
Many artistic disciplines (performing arts,
conceptual art, textile arts) involve aspects
of the visual arts as well as arts of other
types. Also included within the visual arts are
the applied arts such as industrial design,
graphic design, fashion design, interior design
and decorative art.

MED+ART+SCIENCE
From la Mandarina de Newton we collaborated
with the Col·legi de Metges de Barcelona in this
exhibition on medical and scientific illustration.
In this case it was through the participation
of primary school pupils from Taber and Costa
Llobera Schools.

Nanotechnology and Art with the collaboration
of MetaMétodos, from the Universitat de
Barcelona.
La Mandarina de Newton curated the exhibition
Nano Dimension. In this exhibition there was a
section called the gallery, where artists were
to propose different creations from
nanoscopic observations of the world.

LAB SPACE AT ARTS SANTA
MÒNICA
There used to be a Lab Space at Arts Santa
Monica cultural center wew science and arts
mixed. La Mandarina de Newton was in charged
of some of the educational activities related
to the exhibitions.

BIG BANG DATA, CCCB
La Mandarina de Newton is in charged of the
educational services of the Big Bang Data
exhibition opened at CCCB in 2014. A
Contemporary Art exhibition that talks about
technology (big data). Since then we have been
running different types of workshops.

CULTURNAUTES, CCCB
La Mandarina de Newton has organized and
participated at the CCCB Cultural Summer
Camps. We have designed different types of
workshops and activities mixing contemporary
culture, arts, science and technology.

YVES KLEIN -CHEMISTRY
Yves Klein was a French artist considered the
person who invented the blue paint called
International Klein Blue (IKB). This is a mixture
of lapislazuli and some synthetic resin.

Maurits Cornelis Escher was a Dutch graphic
artist who made mathematically inspired
woodcuts, lithographs, and mezzotints.
