The current Platform of the Democratic Party. 49% of Americans say the Democratic Party is “too liberal”; current trends point to a polarization of the Democratic Party that began with "Reagan Democrats" in the 1980s. This polarization indicates the possibility of a future split within the party of "Democrats" and "Socialists". Many policies in the party today mirror the far left policies of European socialist parties.
2. Abortion on demand at any stage of fetal
development at any age, funded by taxpayers
• An untold fact of Planned Parenthood is their sales of aborted babies to biotech and
research companies, which is not far from “running a business” (Carney, 2015).
• The increasingly leftist Democrat Party and Planned Parenthood are standing behind the
idea of abortion absolutism, meaning that abortion should have no federal restrictions
and could happen at any point in gestation, at any age, and without parental or spousal
approval, despite that only 13% of Americans support this.
• Democrats have also introduced legislation, such as the “Equal Access to Abortion
Coverage in Health Insurance Act”, that will ensure the publicly funded coverage of
abortions regardless if the woman can pay for it or not. Therefore, federal public health
insurance programs like Medicaid and Medicare would cover abortion costs. 68% of
Americans oppose the federal funding of abortions.
3. Allowing illegal aliens to vote in U.S. elections.
• In 2014, President Obama gave an executive order that greatly facilitated the
ability of illegal immigrants to vote in elections (Pavlich, 2015).
• The reasoning behind this is to gain more votes for the Democrats. 53% of
Democrats believe that as long as illegal immigrants pay taxes, they should
be allowed to vote.
• More than 14% of non-citizens fraudulently registered to vote, 2008, 2010.
• Obama quoted saying that it was about “bringing people out of the shadows.”
4. U.S. borders opened, non-secure and with
unrestrained passage
• Of the reported 240,000 migrants -- 52,000 of them children -- that have arrived illegally in the first
months of 2015, a Senate hearing confirmed that only 10% were actually sent back to their host
countries.
• Only 10% of unaccompanied minors required by law to show up for immigration status hearings
actually showed up, a U.S. Immigration and Customs official testified. And only 46% of illegal
immigrant children accompanied by an adult actually showed up for status hearings.
• A recent New York Times article showed that the number of illegal border crossers has soared in
Texas. In some Border Patrol sections the increase has been as much as 69%. Border Patrol
agents have said the reason for Central American and Mexican illegal border crossings is that
Obama and the Democrats have welcomed them for the past five years, .
• Since Obama took office in 2009, there has been a 43 percent drop in deportations by court action.
5. Allowing convicted criminals to vote
• Almost 62% of convicts in New York are registered Democrats and only 9% are Republicans; 52%
in New Mexico are Democrats, with just over 10% as Republicans; and 54% are Democrats in
North Carolina, and 10% are Republicans.
• Only two states as of this writing – Maine and Vermont – allow felons to vote. More allow felons on
parole to vote, and 19 states allow felons to vote once release is final. 12 nullify voting rights for
convicted felons that meet certain criteria.
• Since 1997, Attorney General Eric Holder states 23 states have enacted changes, including in
Virginia where last year the voting rights of former inmates with non-violent felony convictions began
to be restored.
• 2.2 million African Americans, or nearly one in 13 African-American adults, are banned from voting
because of the laws. In three states — Florida, Kentucky and Virginia — that ratio is one in five.
6. Outlawing freedom of religion, especially
Christianity
Gary Glenn, elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2014, and also president of
AFA Michigan (American Family Association), has been a national leader in defense of religious liberty for
well upon two decades. Glenn summarized the problem, “The extremely limited religious exemptions…
[have] been mere window-dressing with no real protection or effect, as witnessed by the ongoing
persecution and discrimination under such laws against Christian business owners and community
organizations such as the Boy Scouts, Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, and even the United Way.”
Worldwide, religious persecution of Christians is rampant and nowhere is it more prevalent than in the
Middle East and Northern Africa, but President Obama takes every opportunity to lecture Christians on
their faults.
The Democratic Party, in order to raise money from gays and lock in millennial votes, is attacking freedom
of thought, speech and religion.
7. Outlawing the 2nd Amendment; the right to bear arms
• Democratic candidates such as Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have called on a
national assault weapons ban, stricter background checks and efforts to reduce straw-
buying, however, according to Kuhner, this is the Left’s way of moving towards a
“collectivist revolution” and a “utopian fantasy” that has never existed.
• Liberals generally do not understand that the Second Amendment was put in place to
empower the self-reliant people of the United States to protect themselves.
• Tragic events such as Sandy Hook and the Charleston church shooting are results of
deranged individuals with serious mental illnesses that should be institutionalized and
removed from society where they cannot harm others.
• The true cause of violence should be studied, such as the effects of viloent video
games and other media on youth.
8. Outlawing the 1st Amendment right to free speech
• Controlling and neutralizing the opposition’s speech is the goal of the left.
• The American Thinker’s John Dietrech put it well: “when liberals rant, it’s called free
speech; when conservatives rant, it is hate speech.”
• All around America, speech is being shut down with censorship, in which the full
impact of one’s words are cut in order to have a less resonating effect in society.
• Half a century ago, the defense of free speech was in the hands of groups like the
Free Speech Movement, who were activists for civil-rights literature.
• In this century, however, free speech has become banning other people’s supposedly
“demeaning” words.
9. Outlawing the 1st Amendment right to freedom of
assembly
• House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi endorsed a movement announced by
other congressional Democrats on Wednesday to ratify an amendment to the
U.S. Constitution that would allow Congress to regulate political speech when
it is engaged in by corporations, as opposed to individuals.
• The First Amendment says in part: "Congress shall make no law ... abridging
the freedom of speech, or of the press..."
10. Outlawing the American Flag
• On May 5, 2010, school officials from Live Oak High School in the Morgan
Hill Unified School District, California, prevented five students from wearing
American flag t-shirts because the officials did not want to offend Mexican
students on “their day.”
• A liberal court ruled against American students displaying the flag in their
own country: “Upon review, the Court finds that based on these undisputed
facts, the school officials reasonably forecast that Plaintiffs’ clothing could
cause a substantial disruption with school activities, and therefore did not
violate [the First Amendment].”
11. Forcing employees to join unions
• Even as they scream for "workers' rights," the one workers' right that union bosses
despise is actually the right to work. Big Labor and its overwhelmingly Democratic allies
oppose a peron’s right to choose whether or not to join a union.
• Due to the National Right to Work Act, among America's 22 right-to-work states
(Florida, Georgia, and Texas), non-farm private-sector employment grew 3.7 percent
from 1999 to 2009, while it shrank 2.8 percent among America's 28 forced-unionism
states (California, Illinois, and New York).
• During those 10 years, real personal income rose 28.3 percent in right-to-work states
and shrank 14.7 percent in forced-unionism states.
• In 2009, cost-of-living-adjusted, per-capita, disposable, personal income was $35,543
in right-to-work states versus $33,389 in forced-unionism states. Americans in right-to-
work states enjoyed more freedom, plus this $2,154 “premium” in income.
12. Releasing convicted criminals from prison
• The first wave of criminals were released on the streets of America in 2015
by the Obama administration. It’s only the beginning and a total of 46,000 are
expected to be released. One-third of them are illegal aliens.
• Much more will be released before Obama’s term ends. The criminals
are part of the Democratic voting base. The illegal alien criminals also count
in the census numbers which go towards the Electoral College,
congressional seats, and other monetary benefits.
• For decades before Obama took office, the Democratic Party has been soft
on crime.
13. Increasing taxes
• House Democrats propose tax increases that would be implemented on the “wealthy”
to use for tax cuts for the poor and middle class.
• This plan in the Democratic agenda is to confront the Republicans with other issues as
well, such as the push to raise the minimum wage and reducing student loan debt.
• In Michigan, Democrats are proposing to generate roughly $530 million in new tax
revenue by raising the Corporate Income Tax from 6 percent to 9 percent in order to
repair roads across the state.
• In order to keep less trucks on the roads (that damage the roads) Democrats want to
reduce the weight limit for trucks from 164,000 pounds to the federal standard of
80,000 pounds. However, this would in fact lead to more trucks, since the lost weight
will have to be made up.
14. Burdening the successful with taxes/creating a
welfare state
• An example of a candidate looked down on for his success is the former presidential
candidate Mitt Romney, who worked from the “bottom up,” but was somehow labeled
as “disqualified” to be President by the left (Finger, 2012).
• “If you now self-identify as "poor" and "aggrieved," you get money to sit at home.”
(Hart, 2015).
• Most welfare programs do not coordinate with one another, and therefore waste up to
$1 trillion dollars, rather than getting that money to the people that actually live below
the poverty line.
• “Wealth is a sign of achievement, a reward for risks taken. And being poor is not a
crime, unless those in poverty refuse to strive to overcome it.” - Media Matters
15. Bibliography
These are not groundless accusations, but sadly based on facts. As a former “New Deal” FDR
supporter and member of the Democratic Party once said,
“I didn't leave the Democratic party, the Democratic Party left me.”
― Ronald Reagan
