History of the Student Branch
• September 2010: Anaxagoras Fotopoulos sent an email
to IEEE in order to establish a Student Branch. A few
days later a small group of students met with IEEE
Greece Student Activities Chair, Kostas Karpouzis. As a
result a joint effort began in TEI Piraeus.
• November 2010: We managed to have the minimum
required members for the establishment.
• December 2010: Another group of Student independently
from the previous effort started to establish a Student
Branch. The two groups joined their forces and finally an
application of 31 people was sent to IEEE MGA Board.
• 7 March 2011: The application was approved and the
Student Branch was founded.
