 An Embedded Device as Solution
 User can watch TV on remote itself. A small graphic LCD
will be integrated on remote itself.
 User can select to switch in multicast mode for telecast
on multiple remotes at a time. (in case of urgent work,
use this)
 Two small speakers and a port for head-phone will allow
user to access audio privately from the TV. (in case a
call comes, use this)
 User will also access old functionalities of IR remote on
this device itself. Three possible options are there.
 Buttons Interface – Using GP/IO nXn Array.
 Motion Gestures – Using Accelerometer tilt pattern will be
sensed and recorded for issuing specific commands.
 Voice Commands – A microphone on remote would allow one
to operate it even from distance.

 So far, we are a team of 4 + 2 members on this project.
 2 modules initiated so far.
 Focus on COTS and OEMs.
 Planning to add, 10 more student members.
 Working with Electronics Hobby Center, DA-IICT.
 Project has been split into 7 minor-modules (2 each).
 6 Months Development + 6 Months Integration.
 Development: To be completed by Dec 2009.
 Integration: Further by May 2010.
 Inviting people with expertise in this area to join us.
