The group proposes a media studies project analyzing three pop songs and their music videos: Kelly Rowland's "Stolen", Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe", and Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". They chose the songs because they send powerful messages, appeal to teenage girls, and have memorable, narrative-driven videos. The group will produce their own music video for Taylor Swift's song exploring the storyline of a breakup and an ex turning into an animal. They provide treatments outlining locations, costumes, characters, and the use of camera angles to tell the story.

9. Mood Board analysis
This mood board shows the kind of locations we
want for our music videos it fits our genre Pop. The
mood board is girly and this is because it is aimed at
our target audience from age 14-21. The reason
why we chose these locations as it fits in with the
songs and the storylines. Each setting has a
different scenario.
This mood board shows the kind of colours and
themes that are going to run through the music
video. It gives an overall feel of the video and the
narration behind it. These colours are all very
bright and eye catching to show the happiness in
the protagonist that she has split from her
boyfriend.
This mood board shows the kind of clothing and
costumes that characters are going to wear. The
reasons we choose these styling of clothing and
colour because we wanted to portray a happy, fun
and energetic atmosphere to the video and the
protagonist.

Taylor Swift – We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
Duration of the music 3.36
Props: instruments for example a guitar, keyboard and drums etc
Hair and make-up: Face paints, a range of hair styles and make up for the main

lot of change in backgrounds and locations. These costumes will range from
colourful dresses to jeans and tops.

15. It has recently over the past two years
become popular for music videos to
feature different types of animals, this
includes people dressing up in costumes
to feature throughout or in bits of the
video. This is supported by artist like
Coldplay – Paradise and Bruno Mars – The
Lazy Song.
This an example of camera angle and
background we will have in our music
video, this mid shot gives a more
personal to the song and the
audience.
16. Camera Angles
• We will use establishing shot in our video, so we can show the
scenery. We will do this in regents park. By doing so it will set the
mood of the song.
• A close up will provide focus and attention on the characters
feelings or reactions.
The mid shot shows some part of the subject in more detail,
whilst still showing enough for the audience to feel as if they were
looking at the whole subject.
