What do we mean by the term ‘styles’?
- “To design or make in a certain way…”
- “A distinctive appearance by design…”
4. Music Video Styles
But what does that mean?
That we can design the visual look, create
the atmosphere and impose our meaning in
our music videos.
We can choose its style.

There are many different styles;
1. Narrative

What is a narrative?
- A story. Events connected together.

What do we mean by interpretive?
- “….to explain the meaning….”
The meaning of the video isn’t clear so the
viewer has to come up with their own idea of
what its about (ie. Its meaning)
10. Parody
What is a parody?
- A imitation of the style of another artist,
often humorously exaggerated, or mocking.

11. Pastiche
What is pastiche?
- An artistic piece of work that imitates
another’s respectfully, also referred to as
homage

Impressionism seeks to capture a moment,
it should be a truthful snapshot of life, similar
to a documentary

• Animation is the illusion of creating life &
movement.
• Can include cartoons, 3D and stop motion
