The Harmonious Volunteer Center is performing services for the the North Penn Civic Association's Community Center at Chalmers Park and the North Philadelphia Neighborhoods. More and more volunteers are contributing time, energies, labor, talent to bringing the quality of life in the area to a better condition. Stop by the neighborhood, visit and talk with our volunteers about what they can do for you.
1. Hello Fellow Volunteers
Because of the success of our assorted programs, we
are experience a rapid growth in volunteer
participation.
Therefore, It has become necessary to provide a guide
to volunteer assignments
This presentation will help you identify
how and where you fit in.
2. 1. All events and activities will be planned by my Office of the Executive Director. Based upon your
daily reports to my office, we are able to determine where to place the best talent to
accomplish the desired tasks.
2. Starting the week of June 17th Sunday the following goes into effect.
a. Tony Whitfield / Vincent Vaccariello will be responsible for opening the NPCA Community
Center @ Chalmers Park between 8:30a.m. and 9:30a.m.
b. Robert Heacock will report to the 27th Street Garden (weather permitting) between 8:30a.m.
until 9:30a.m. then assume his duties as NPCA House Keeping Manager thereafter.
c. David Wallace will report to the 27th Street Garden (weather permitting) between 8:30a.m. until
9:30a.m. and then assume his duties as HVC Urban Garden Manager at Chalmers Park
thereafter.
d. Barry Nash will report to the 27th Street Garden (weather permitting) between 8:30a.m. until
9:30a.m. and then assume his duties as NPCA Tool Crib Manager thereafter.
e. Stuart Simons will report to the 27th Street Garden (weather permitting) between 8:30a.m. until
9:30a.m. and then assume his duties as HVC Block Cleaning Manager thereafter.
f. Jackson will report to the 27th Street Garden (weather permitting) between 8:30a.m. until
9:30a.m. and then assume his duties as NPCA Flea Market Manager thereafter.
g. Perry will report to the 27th Street Garden (weather permitting) between 8:30a.m. until
9:30a.m. and then assume his duties as HVC Block Cleaning Assistant thereafter.
h. Hernadez will report to the 27th Street Garden (weather permitting) between 8:30a.m. until
9:30a.m. and then assume his duties as HVC Urban Garden Assistant thereafter.
i. Langley will report to the 27th Street Garden (weather permitting) between 8:30a.m. until
9:30a.m and then assume his duties as NPCA Flea Market Assistant thereafter.
j. Chislom will report to the 27th Street Garden (weather permitting) between 8:30a.m until
9:30a.m. and then assume his duties as HVC Property Researcher thereafter.
3. k. Rashida Denise Ali will report to NPCA between 12p.m. until 5p.m. as NPCA Administrative
Coordinator.
l. Shernal Duffy will report to NPCA between 10a.m. until 12p.m. as Assistant Administrative
Assistant and assume her duties in booking keeping / document organizing / program intake
coordinator / Time keeping accounting / and other coordinating services.
m. Cheryl Withers will report to NPCA between 12p.m. until 3p.m. as Assistant Administrative
Assistant and assume her duties as Merchandise Inventory Registrar of Flea Market items.
n. Rochelle Jones will report to NPCA between 10a.m. until 4p.m. as Assistant Administrative
Assistant and will assume her duties assisting Ms. Duffy.
o. Cecila Seals will report to NPCA/Chalmers Park (weather permitting) between 10a.m. until 4p.m.
as HVC Flea Market Coordinator and Fund Raising Sales Representative.
p. Mr. Perry will report to NPCA/Chalmers Park (weather permitting) between 10a.m. until 4p.m. as
HVC Flea Market Coordinator, Sales and Food Service Representative.
q. Ramona Reid will schedule her Neighborhood Outreach activities in accordance to the
requirements needed.
r. Patricia Walker will report to Ms. Reid as necessary for Literature Distribution and Neighborhood
Circulation.
s. Lonnie McBride will report as scheduled to NPCA/Chalmers Park (weather permitting) to assume
assigned duties in grounds keeping.
New Incoming participants will be assigned according to the needs of the organization and those
persons listed may be required to become team leaders, instructors, and facilitator.
4. So that you are aware of our HVC operations.
1. We work on holidays… (If you want to be off on a holiday date, please
advise one week or so in advance)
2. We don’t do Sick… (If you are ill and can’t come to work, then you are not
here, but business continues)
3. Everyone must have (a Library Card; Email Address; Resume; and Cover Letter.)
4. Everyone will have (a formal and professional Job Intrview)
Our Business depends on the ON TIME PERFOMANCE of each volunteer
attending to their assigned functions. Our Image reflects our
organizational abilities to build capacity per each individual volunteer as
well as organizational presence and efficiency.
5. We don’t do Business Cards
Therefore, keep a pen and paper with you to hand write information.

Note: If you are a High School Graduate or above, then register to take
the MCOL Tutoring Class to receive your certificate.
Note: Your assignment may change with short notice because of a paid
work experience, internship, or job opportunity, therefore, another
member of your assignment will have to step up.
Note: At our organization we are interested in quality of volunteers;
quantitative productivity; and multi-talented abilities.
6. All Volunteers with the exception of Ms. Ali / Ms. Duffy /
Mr. Whitfield / Mr. Vaccariello / Mr. Perry / Ms. Seals will report to
the Widener Library Branch on Tuesday
and Wednesday at 10a.m. until 12p.m.
for Group Training. Schedule your
activities on these days to ensure you
attend on time.
