2. The weeknd – Kiss Land
The weeknds album cover for ‘Kiss Land’
uses predominately dark and subtle
colours and tones. The photograph of the
artist himself is big enough to see clearly
but not over the top and overpowering.
There are two fonts; one plain white
simple and another more stylized type
coloured in green matching the image on
the front. The Digipak’s codes and
conventions are very much suited to the
‘Kiss Land’ music video.

3. John Legend – Love in The Future
John Legends album cover for ‘Love in the Future’ is
very simplistic. There is a lack of text on the front
and all we are exposed to is a few red roses which
represent love tying in with the album name and
contents. All the relevant writing is printed on the
back cover along with the ownership/company
details etc. The dull pink also creates a loving and
gentle mood. These conventions match the single
‘Made to love’ which uses similar colours and
visuals.

4. Robin Thicke – Blurred Lines
Robin Thickes album cover for blurred lines
immediately strikes the audience as being very
colourful and extravagant much like the music video
for the single. It uses a unique font and displays the
artist himself from three different angles through
different coloured filters. The background appears to
be a graffiti covered surface adding to the bold
appearance.
