The rate of increase in the total number of application
downloads is 4% compared to the previous year.
The average time spent on Android applications reached
186 minutes in 2018 with a 14% increase in the last 3
years.
Google Play is the dominant platform in Turkey.
In the distribution between Android and IOS platforms,
Android Market has 82% of the market share, but in the
world average Android has 64% of the market share. This
ratio is %67 in Germany, 41% in United Kingdom. In 2017,
70% of the total time spent in mobile applications was
spent on communication, social media, gaming and video
applications.
Revenue is growing steadily, but is yet to accelerate.
Revenue in the Mobile Games segment amounts to
US$143m in 2018(Jan to Oct).

Revenue is expected to show an annual growth rate
(CAGR 2018-2022) of 8.0%, resulting in a market volume
of US$195m by 2022.
The average revenue per user (ARPU) currently amounts
to US$7.76.
In 2018, in the Mobile Games segment, the number of
active paying customers is 18.45 million. This number is
expected to increase by 2 million per year.
User penetration is 22.5% in 2018 and is expected to hit
29.1% by 2022. (“Penetration Rate” shows the share of
active paying customers from the total population of the
selected market for each year.)
Approximately 90 percent of the 15-19 age group in
Turkey playing mobile games on their smartphones. In
general, the rate of using the phone for the game is high.
There are two main reason of it, tablets lost their
popularity, the mobile phones are more practical for
carrying, and the development of smart phone
technology. Most of the users who actively play mobile
games are not content theirself with a single mobile game.
85 percent of users are actively playing at least two or
more mobile games. The rate of users who play mobile
games at least once a week is 83 percent. Turkish users’
app download rate, app usage rate and app revenues are
considerably high.
