The labour productivity will increase by almost 40% in 2020
compared to its 2015 level. This will be the highest increase
in the ASEAN countries. Securing this productivity will be
essential to ensure Myanmar development in the coming
years.
Unfortunately, the labour force will become older. Preventing
illness will become one of the top priority to secure the
labour force productivity. This will be an issue to manage for
every employers (public or private). According to our
research, the average cost of Absenteeism in Myanmar may
reach 870 M US$ per year and may impact the GDP by 1,4%
each year.
