2. How electricity is made
Hot water is piped from ground into a
geothermal plant, then it meets the flash
tank which water is changed into steam by
a condenser, then the steam turns a
turbine which drive generators to produce
electricity. Its renewable so you would
always get it and have it.
3. Comparing Costs
• Geothermal it costs $23,250- $40,000 to get
put in most of the cost is from digging the
hole in the ground.
• Fire Place would be $140 a month
• Natural Gas would be about $85 a month
• Personally I would choose Geothermal
because it is the most efficient but you have to
live long term in a house.
4. Advantages/Disadvantages
Some advantages would be that as long as you
always have water you will get the heat from it. It
also keeps a house consistently hot. The benefits
are that after along time you won’t be paying as
much for heat.
Some disadvantages is the cost because to get it
costs $23,250 and for a mid class person it would
take 13 years to pay off. So you would have to
commit to where ever you live. And if a pipe
breaks you would have to dig the whole thing up.
