My mentor, Dean Holland has on several occasions reiterated the importance of goal setting to helps get clarity, plan and achieve goals faster. But how do I do that? It’s all well and good writing down “I want to earn $10K per month” but how do I determine what it will take to achieve it! Also over what time period will it take to make $10K a month ie 3 months, 6 months, 1 year etc. There is a saying “Failing to plan is planning to fail”, so we need to sit and figure out what we need to do!!
1. Simple Goal Setting
My mentor, Dean Holland has on several occasions reiterated the importance of goal setting to helps get
clarity, plan and achieve goals faster. But how do I do that? It’s all well and good writing down “I want to
earn $10K per month” but how do I determine what it will take to achieve it! Also over what time period
will it take to make $10K a month ie 3 months, 6 months, 1 year etc. There is a saying “Failing to plan is
planning to fail”, so we need to sit and figure out what we need to do!!
Step 1 - Workout my goal/s
One of the first things I need to do is work out my financial goals. What is goal for the next 90 days? Ie
how much do I want to make or be making?
Step 2 - How ready am I?
Have I got a product or service to promote and have I got a converting sale funnel yet?
Step 3 – Know the prices
Have I determined the cost for my front end (FE) offer?
Now we get to the nitty gritty, how many FE copies would I need to sell in order to reach my financial goal
in say three months?
Monthly sales
Weekly sales
Daily sales
Step 4 – So what do I need to do to achieve my goal?
2. Now that I have the figures, I can now plan on how to achieve the goal! For instance
The number of subscribers required per day to make the amount of sales needed.
The number of visitors to my site that need to become subscribers
Assuming I need 400 subscribers with a conversion rate of 1% to make 4 sales per day. I would need
1350 visitors per day with an optin rate of 30% to get 400 subscribers.
Now I have to focus on how and where do you get 1350 visitors per day from?
Step 5 – My focus point
Now what will be the metric for calculating my success?
Will it be the number of visitors to my site.
Will it be the number of optins OR
Will it be the number of sales made per day
Personally, I am going to focus on the number of visitors to my site. So now that I have decided my focus
is going to be on visitor numbers, I must then do what I can to increase the traffic in order to reach the
goals.
An important task is to track progress on a daily basis, this will ensure I am on track and whether I am
getting the results I need. As you can see from above, it takes a lot of traffic to provide a worthwhile
income. Finding the necessary traffic is achievable as long as you commit to finding it on a daily basis
Step 6 – Developing a traffic strategy
So I have now established the numbers of visitors I need to drive to my squeeze page or website, so
how am I going to do that?
I can use FREE traffic
I can use Paid traffic
OR a combination of both
In order to answer the above question I need to consider my budget.
How much money can I spend per month on traffic?
What methods would be suitable to start with considering the budget I will have?
3. Create a list of traffic generating methods that is capable of getting that amount of visitors per
day.
To be continued
