  1. WelcomeThe purpose of this orientation is to help students transition to the college successfully.
  2. CPCC offers more than 200 degree, diploma and certificate programs.CPCC serves more than 75,000 people on six campuses.
  3. Today’s orientation will cover manytopics that are important to you as a new student. The topics include college policies, money, getting help, campus safety and logistics.
  4. Dr. Zeiss is the president of our college.There are four core competencies developed by area employers and educators which are critical to the success of every CPCC student. Through your coursework at the college, you will master each of these competencies.
  5. This is very important for high school students and their parents to know.
  6. Check the website for bookstore operating hours.
  7. Parking decals are required to park on all campuses. Vehicles without a decal will be ticketed.To pick up your decal, bring a paid receipt/schedule and a photo ID to any campus security office, bookstore or cashier’s office.Decals should be displayed on the driver’s side rear window. You will need to repeat this process each semester.
  8. Student IDs are required to access many of the services you will need on campus like the library, testing center, computer lab, fitness center and to attend the CPCC Career Fair.You will need to have a photo ID and paid receipt to have an ID made at any of our six campuses.   11. Every student has a CPCC email account which is used for all official college communication including financial aid, registration information as well as messages from your instructors.Check your CPCC email daily!
  12. MyCollege is the way you access your personal information at CPCC.Just some of the things you can do using MyCollege include: check grades register for classes pay for classes confirm financial aid status & much more!Sign in to your account from CPCC’s homepage.

  14. CPCC courses have online components.You will be using Blackboard or Moodle.Attend an eLearning orientation to learn how to use these learning management systems.You can access Blackboard and Moodle from CPCC’s homepage.
  15. CPCC is a safe college, however, if you do experience an emergency while on campus or have security related issues you can call the 24 hour Central Dispatch Station at 704-330-6911. There are also emergency call boxes on every campus if you need assistance.Security can help you with anything from giving directions to providing you with an escort to your car.
  16. Critical Alert is an emergency only text messaging and phone call system. To get alerts, you have to sign up online through MyCollege.Alerts include different situations including college closings due to weather.
  17. The most important variable in being a successful student is getting involved and connecting to the college's many programs, events and resources.These services are free and are paid for with your tuition! Use them to find success! 
